Yemen's Houthi group fired four ballistic missiles at government-held areas along the country's western coast on Wednesday evening as fighting between the two sides intensified, government forces said. The media center of the Yemeni government forces said three missiles targeted the Red Sea port of Mocha in southwestern Taiz province, while the fourth struck the coastal city of Al-Khawkhah in neighboring Hodeidah province. The missiles were launched from mountainous areas east of Taiz city controlled by the Houthis, the statement said, citing a military source. Local residents told Xinhua they heard three loud explosions in Mocha. No casualties were reported immediately, while the Houthis have not commented on the attacks. Mocha, a strategic Red Sea port under government control, has faced repeated Houthi missile and drone attacks in recent weeks. Fighting has also intensified on several fronts, with government forces increasing drone and artillery attacks on Houthi positions, while the Houthis have continued targeting government-held areas.
