The wife of a local Awami League leader in Noakhali, who suffered a brutal assault allegedly led by rival AL leader and Basurhat Mayor Abdul Quader Mirza,  has filed an application with the Speedy Trial Tribunal to hear a case against Mirza and 96 others.

A stone quarry worker was killed and two others were injured in a landslide at Bholaganj in Companiganj upazila on Sunday.
