Man arrested for making obscene gestures, harassing women online
Police arrested a man from Aminbazar of Savar on charges of harassing women by making objectionable gestures and derogatory remarks on social media.
The arrestee is Md. Khalid Mahmud, also known as Hridoy Khan.
A Facebook page recently posted videos showing Khalid Mahmud dressed as a mentally unstable person while making derogatory comments about women who do not wear hijabs, according to a media release sent from Dhaka district police on Monday.
He threatened that women who do not wear hijabs would face sexual violence and made other offensive remarks targeting young girls.

A case has been filed against Nurul Haque Nur, former Ducsu VP and leader of Bangladesh Gono Odhikar Parishad, for making ‘derogatory comment’ about Deputy Minister for Education Mohibul Hassan Chowdhoury Nowfel.

Advocate Shahriar Yeasin Arafat Tanim, a former Chhatra League leader of Chittagong University, filed the case under the Digital Security Act (DSA) with Chattogram Cyber Tribunal on Tuesday, said Advocate Ibrahim Hossain Chowdhury.
Chattogram Cyber Tribunal Judge Zahirul Kabir took the case into cognisance and asked the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) for further investigation.

According to the case statement, Nurul made indecent comment about the deputy minister at a programme of Chhatra Jubo Odhikar Parishad in Dhaka on June 1.
He also made derogatory remarks about Chhatra League while in a Facebook live.

Another case lodged against Murad and Nahid in Pabna
Another case has been filed against former State Minister for Information and Broadcasting Murad Hassan and Youtuber Muhammad Mohiuddin Helal Nahid in a Pabna court for derogatory comments about BNP founder Ziaur Rahman and his family members on social media.
Advocate Arshed Alam, president of the Pabna District Nationalist Lawyers Forum, filed the case before the Pabna Chief Judicial Magistrate cognizance court on Wednesday morning.

Arshed said that all the members of the Pabna Nationalist Lawyers Forum were hurt and thus filed this defamation suit.
