The global death toll from coronavirus reached 211,609 on Tuesday morning as countries around the world prepare to ease restrictions on movement.   According to worldometer data, 3,064,895 cases have so far been confirmed since the virus was first reported in China in December last year. Dhaka, Mar 26 (UNB) - The calamity known as the Coronavirus or COVID-19 has resulted in an unprecedented shutdown of schools, markets and the normal life in general across the planet. It  has already brought  miseries to the people of Bangladesh - where concern keeps growing over whether an epidemic can be kept at bay.

China's coronavirus caseload continued to wane Tuesday even as the epidemic took a firmer hold beyond Asia, with three countries now exceeding 1,000 cases and the U.S. reporting its sixth death.

China's Ministry of Justice has issued a guideline on providing better legal services concerning the prevention and control of the novel coronavirus epidemic and coordination in advancing economic and social development.

The epidemic situation has shown positive changes due to concerted hard work and that the prevention and control work has achieved notable outcomes, said the Chinese Embassy in Dhaka quoting Chinese President Xi Jinping as saying.

The Chinese government and people have made every effort to control the outbreak of the novel coronavirus, Chinese Consul General in Houston Cai Wei has said.

The World Health Organization (WHO) said Tuesday that the novel coronavirus epidemic has not become a pandemic but an outbreak with multiple foresides, and that fighting against the "epidemic of information," rumors or false information, is crucial.
