Woman with intellectual disability dies in Natore fire
A 40-year-old woman with intellectual disability was burned to death while two sustained burn injuries in a fire that broke out at their house at Naupara in Lalpur upazila of Natore district on Tuesday night.
The deceased was identified as Shahnaz Begum, daughter of Ramjan Ali of the village.
Ujjal Hossain, officer-in-charge of Lalpur Police Station, said a fire broke out at Shahnaz’s house, originating from a lamp, at 9 pm and spread soon.

Hearing screams, neighbors rushed to the spot but failed to douse the fire.
On information, a firefighting unit recovered the body of Shahnaz and rescued two Mayesha Khatun, 8, Shahnaz’s daughter; and Yeatul Begum, 70, from the house.

Two siblings die in Ctg house fire
Two siblings were charred to death while asleep in a fire that gutted their house in Chattogram on Monday night, officials said on Tuesday.
The deceased were identified as Minhaz Uddin (12) and his sister Ruhi Aktar (2.5), both children of Mohammad Idris Mia.
The fire broke out around 10pm at the house of Idris in ward- 4 of Saral union in the district's Banshkhali upazila when the family was fast asleep, officials said.

The fire soon engulfed two adjacent houses in the locality, according to officials.
'The fire originated from an electrical short-circuit and by the time the firefighting unit reached the spot, both the children were dead," said Nuru Bashar, team leader of Bashkhali fire service.
Dipak Kumar Singha, a sub-inspector at the Banshkhali police station, said that the police were alerted about the deaths.

House fire in eastern Pakistan kills 7 family members
Police were investigating after a fire overnight in eastern Pakistan killed seven family members, a rescue official said Sunday.
The fire ignited at a house in the Ali Pur area of Muzaffar Garh district in Punjab province, said rescue service chief Dr. Hussain Mian.

He said firefighters retrieved the charred bodies of a 65-year-old man, two women ages 35 and 19, three boys ages 3, 10 and 12 and a 2-month-old infant.
Mian said the bodies have been sent for autopsy and forensic examination.
Police said the cause of the fire was being investigated and investigators want to know why none of the family members woke up when the fire erupted.
