Pakistan on Friday summoned a senior Indian diplomat to register a formal protest over “ceasefire violations” that left a civilian injured along the Line of Control (LoC).

Three militants were killed Saturday in an ongoing fierce gunfight with government forces in restive Indian-controlled Kashmir, police said.

Shops and businesses shut in Indian-controlled Kashmir on Sunday and authorities imposed a lockdown in some parts of the disputed region's main city after separatists called for a strike to mark the anniversary of the execution of a Kashmiri man who was convicted in an attack on the Indian Parliament.
