Asia Cup: Junior Tigers to leave Dhaka this evening
Bangladesh U-19 cricket team is all set to leave Dhaka for the UAE this evening to take part in the U-19 Asia Cup. After this event, the Junior Tigers will fly to the West Indies to take part in the ICC U-19 World Cup as the defending champions.
In the World Cup, slated to be played between January 14 and February 5, Bangladesh will face Canada, the UAE and England in Group A.

“We have to play well to win matches against any opponent, and at this level, there is no big or small opponent. We have to play well against every team to do well,” Rakibul Hasan, Bangladesh’s captain, told the media.
Rakibul was part of Bangladesh team when they won the World Cup in 2020 in South Africa.
Bangladesh have recently played a series against India U-19 A and B team, and won the series. Rakibul believes that win will help them to do well in the Asia Cup and in the World Cup.

Bangladesh U-19 to travel Sri Lanka in October
Bangladesh U-19 cricket team will travel Sri Lanka in October this year for a five-match one-day series against their Lankan counterparts, Sri Lanka Cricket confirmed.
Bangladesh will reach Sri Lanka on October 7. All the matches will be played under a strict bio-secure environment.

While the first match of the series will take place on October 15, the other matches will be played on October 18, 20, 23, and 35 respectively. The venues for this series will be confirmed later.
Bangladesh U-19 recently played a five-match one-day series and a four-day match against Afghanistan at home. They won the one-day series 3-2, but lost the solitary four-day match.

Left-arm Bangladeshi spinner Naimur Rohman bagged 13 wickets in the one-day series with a five-wicket haul, while Izharulhaq Naveed, and Shahidullah Hasani of Afghanistan bagged 11 and 10 wickets respectively.
Bangladesh’s right-handed batter Aich Mollah scored 148 runs in five matches with a hundred while Mahfijul Islam, another Bangladeshi batter scored 100 in as many matches.

Fans abuzz at cricketer Shoriful’s Panchagarh home
Though the newfound cricket star is still in South Africa, the home of Shoriful Islam, a member of the Bangladesh U-19 Cricket Team, at Nogordanga village in Debiganj upazila is abuzz with waves of celebrations.
People in their hundreds are visiting his home to share their feelings on the Junior Tigers’ stunning victory clinching the U-19 World Cup trophy.
Bangladesh became the champions beating India by three wickets in the nail-biting final at Potchefstroom, South Africa on Sunday.
