China’s Communist Party capable of new, greater miracles: Xi Jinping
The Communist Party of China (CPC) is fully confident and capable of creating new and even greater miracles on the new journey of the new era, Xi Jinping said as the 20th CPC National Congress came to a conclusion Saturday.
The CPC congress has realized its goals of unifying thinking, fortifying confidence, charting the course and boosting morale, Xi told 2,338 delegates and specially invited delegates present at the closing session of the weeklong congress at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing. "This has been a congress of holding our banner high, pooling our strength, and promoting solidarity and dedication."
At the closing session presided over by Xi, the congress elected a new CPC Central Committee, with 205 members and 171 alternate members, and a new Central Commission for Discipline Inspection (CCDI) consisting of 133 members.
The congress passed a resolution on the report of the 19th CPC Central Committee, a resolution on the work report of the 19th CCDI, and a resolution on an amendment to the CPC Constitution.

The congress noted that the establishment of Comrade Xi Jinping's core position on the Party Central Committee and in the Party as a whole and the guiding role of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era has set the rejuvenation of the Chinese nation on "an irreversible historical course."
The report of the 19th CPC Central Committee charts the course and establishes a guide to action for the new journey for advancing the cause of the Party and the country in the new era and for realizing the Second Centenary Goal, Xi said.
Hailing the report "a guiding Marxist document," Xi said it is a political declaration and a program of action for the CPC to rally and lead the Chinese people of all ethnic groups in securing new victories for socialism with Chinese characteristics.
The CCDI work report underscores the significance of using the Party's own transformation to steer social transformation, and declares the Party's firm resolve to keep improving conduct, promoting integrity and fighting corruption with sober-minded determination to make this an unceasing endeavor, Xi said.
On the revised CPC Constitution, which came into effect as of the date of adoption, Xi said it encapsulates the theoretical, practical and institutional innovations made by the Party.
The revised CPC Constitution sets out clear requirements for upholding and strengthening the Party's overall leadership, promoting the Party's full and rigorous self-governance, continuing and improving Party building, and advancing the Party's self-reform, he said.
The new developments in Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era since the 19th CPC National Congress have been incorporated into the Party Constitution.
Advancing the rejuvenation of the Chinese nation on all fronts through a Chinese path to modernization has been designated as the central task of the Party on the new journey of the new era at the 20th CPC National Congress. This central task has been included in the revised Party Constitution.
Also added to the Party Constitution are statements on gradually realizing the goal of common prosperity for all, pursuing high-quality development, developing a broader, fuller and more robust whole-process people's democracy, elevating the people's armed forces to world-class standards, resolutely implementing the policy of One Country, Two Systems, and resolutely opposing and deterring separatists seeking "Taiwan independence."
Holding dear humanity's shared values of peace, development, fairness, justice, democracy and freedom was also included in the Party Constitution.
On the newly elected CPC Central Committee, Xi said it is a broadly representative and well-structured body with highly qualified members who meet the standards for Central Committee membership, match the expectations of ordinary officials and the general public, and reflect the realities of the Party's leadership teams and contingent of officials.
The new CPC Central Committee will definitely be capable of shouldering the historic mission of rallying and leading the whole Party and the Chinese people of all ethnic groups in building China into a modern socialist country in all respects and in advancing national rejuvenation on all fronts, he said.
"We believe that all the decisions and plans set out at the congress and all its outcomes will play a significant role in guiding and underpinning our efforts to build a modern socialist country in all respects, advance national rejuvenation on all fronts, and secure new victories for socialism with Chinese characteristics," Xi said.
Xi called on the delegates to firmly keep in mind the Party's original aspiration and founding mission and the country's most fundamental interests, and firmly keep in mind that "this country is its people; the people are the country."
During the congress, the central committees of other political parties, the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce as well as public figures from all ethnic groups and all sectors in China offered their congratulations, as did members of the public through various means. Political parties and organizations in many countries around the world also sent congratulatory messages.
"The presidium of the congress wishes to express its heartfelt thanks to each and every one of them," Xi said.

Having come through a century of great endeavor, the Party is once again embarking on a new journey on which it will face new tests, Xi noted. "We are fully confident and capable of creating new and even greater miracles on the new journey of the new era -- miracles that will amaze the world."
Xi urged all Party members to stay closely rallied around the CPC Central Committee and hold high the great banner of socialism with Chinese characteristics.
"We must remain confident in our history, exhibit greater historical initiative, and have the courage to fight and the mettle to win," he said.
Xi called on the Party to stay focused, determinedly forge ahead, and unite and lead all Chinese people in striving to fulfill the goals and tasks set out at the 20th CPC National Congress.

'Taiwan question must be resolved by the Chinese': Xi says at 20th CPC Congress
Xi Jinping said on Sunday (October 16, 2022) that the Communist Party of China (CPC) will implement its overall policy for resolving the Taiwan question in the new era, and unswervingly advance the cause of national reunification.
"Resolving the Taiwan question is a matter for the Chinese, a matter that must be resolved by the Chinese," said Xi at the opening session of the 20th CPC National Congress.
"We will continue to strive for peaceful reunification with the greatest sincerity and the utmost effort, but we will never promise to renounce the use of force, and we reserve the option of taking all measures necessary. This is directed solely at interference by outside forces and the few separatists seeking 'Taiwan independence' and their separatist activities; it is by no means targeted at our Taiwan compatriots," he said.

Xi Jinping -- Leading CPC to strive for a better world
"What we Chinese Communists are doing is to better the lives of the Chinese people, rejuvenate the Chinese nation, and promote peace and development for humanity."
Addressing over 600 representatives of political parties from over 120 countries at a high-level dialogue in 2017, Xi Jinping, general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and president of China, laid out the historic mission of the world's largest political party.

Committed to the party's original aspiration, Xi is leading the CPC not only to build China into a modern socialist country but to create a better shared future for the world.
DEVELOPMENT FOR ALL
A day before the official centenary of the CPC on Thursday, China, after a 70-year fight, was officially declared malaria-free by the World Health Organization, which marks the latest of the numerous achievements China has made under the CPC's leadership.
In February, Xi announced that China, with a population larger than 1.4 billion, had secured a complete victory against poverty, which was widely acclaimed as a miracle in the human history of poverty reduction.
While striving to improve the wellbeing of its own people, the CPC has also been committed to promoting the world's common development. In his 2017 New Year speech, Xi said the Chinese people "hope for a better life for people in other countries as well as for themselves." And he has been leading China to make that hope come true.
Whether in the fight against malaria or in poverty alleviation, China has over the past decades extended a helping hand to others, especially developing countries.
Back in 2000, Xi, then governor of southeastern China's Fujian Province, helped launch a pilot Juncao project to help improve the livelihood of the Papua New Guinean people.
Juncao, famed as "magic grass" and discovered by Chinese scientists, is an economical and environmentally friendly substitute for timber, which can be used as a substrate for growing mushrooms.
Eighteen years later, during Xi's state visit to the Oceanian country, the two countries signed another aid project using the grass technology. By 2023, the aid program is expected to lift 30,000 local people out of poverty.
Today, the Juncao project has taken root in over 100 countries, helping combat poverty in developing countries in Africa, Asia and the South Pacific region.
Meanwhile, from the decades-old Canton Fair to the 3-year-old China International Import Expo and to the newly launched China International Consumer Products Expo, high-end international expos have repeatedly demonstrated China's commitment to wider opening-up and mutual benefits.

China sees remarkable achievements under CPC leadership, says Pakistani PM
China, under the leadership of the Communist Party of China (CPC), has made remarkable achievements such as the eradication of absolute poverty, said Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan.
In an interview with Chinese media at the Prime Minister House on Tuesday, Khan lauded the CPC's efforts to score a complete victory in China's fight against poverty.

"This is, I think, one of the most remarkable achievements of any human society. I don't think there is any precedent in history of a society achieving these great goals," he noted.
Extending his congratulations on the 100th anniversary of the CPC, the Pakistani prime minister described the party's governance of China as a unique model.
People were told that the Western system of democracy is the best way for social progress, and yet what the CPC has achieved proves that there is another feasible model, he said.
As the prime minister of Pakistan and chairman of the country's ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf party, Khan has paid several visits to China in the past few years. He said that the CPC's system of talent selection and grooming as well as its long-term planning for the development of China have impressed him.
Climate change, Khan said, is one of the most serious challenges facing mankind. And the CPC has been upholding the idea of the building of a community with a shared future for mankind and leading China to do a large amount of work in protecting the environment and tackling climate change.
On Pakistan-China relations, Khan said that since the establishment of diplomatic ties seven decades ago, the two countries have been walking shoulder to shoulder through difficulties, and have forged a very deep, strong and unique relationship which is not limited between the two governments, but also exists between the two peoples.

He said that whenever Pakistan is in trouble, the Chinese side will always extend a helping hand. "The people of China have a special place in the hearts of the people of Pakistan. Because you will remember a friend who stands with you in your difficult times as in good times, everyone stands with you."
In the fight against COVID-19, China has not only performed exemplarily within the country, but also helped many other countries including Pakistan control the epidemic through vaccine donation and other ways, Khan said.
Hailing the vaccine donation by China a timely help, he said that his country was able to kick off the nationwide vaccination drive because of the vaccine doses from China to vaccinate frontline health workers and senior citizens in the first phase, "which gives us a lot of confidence."
As a landmark project under the China-proposed Belt and Road Initiative, the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) has been fruitful in solving Pakistan's electricity shortage and improving the country's transport infrastructure, the Pakistani prime minister said.
The CPEC is "a program which gives us the greatest optimism and hope for our future economic development," he said, adding that Pakistan will deepen industrial, agricultural and skill training cooperation with China in the future.

Pakistan will attract companies from China and other countries to invest in the special economic zones under the CPEC through incentives to create jobs and bolster economic growth, Khan said.
Pakistan will further strengthen its relations with China in the future, including political and economic and trade relations, he said, adding that no matter how the world situation changes, the Pakistan-China relationship will remain rock-solid.

CPC offers significant governance experience, says PCI leader
Running a country as large as China, the Communist Party of China (CPC) is providing a significant amount of experience that can be drawn on in the field of governance, National Secretary of the Italian Communist Party (PCI) Mauro Alboresi has said.
The success of the CPC lies in its capability to combine political theory and practice, which has set a great example across the globe, the PCI leader said in a recent interview with Xinhua.

"The facts say a lot," said Alboresi, taking China's campaign of poverty alleviation as an example.
"The challenge of lifting millions of people out of poverty, which many thought to be impossible, has proved to be a possibility. It became real, thanks to the governance of the CPC and the efforts made in this direction in such a short span of time," he added.
Alboresi said the CPC has not only helped its own people out of poverty, but also reached out to other developing countries in need with Chinese experience.
China's cooperation with African nations, for example, has supported "local infrastructure construction in order to allow them to improve their production capacity and exports, sustaining a strong idea of development," he said.
When it comes to the fight against COVID-19, the PCI leader said that under the guidance of the CPC, "China handled the pandemic in a resolute, effective way, so much so that, today, China has been able to respond (to the pandemic) while other countries are struggling."

"It should be highlighted that China faced the COVID-19 pandemic with a supportive approach of collaboration toward other countries," he added.
Alboresi pointed out that the entire humankind should reflect on this COVID-19 pandemic and the world is seeing historically unprecedented processes of interconnection and interdependence between different countries.
China's proposal of building a community with a shared future for mankind "is the necessary answer to address the big challenges that affect the planet," Alboresi said.
"This proposal confirms the profound belief that encourages the CPC ... about the centrality of multilateralism within relations with different countries," said Alboresi. "I really think we need to head toward this direction."
Noting this year marks the 100th anniversary of the CPC, Alboresi said that the centenary, "to which we pay great attention, is an opportunity for reflection for all the international communist movement."

"In this sense, we truly believe there are all the right conditions for this centenary to bring about further momentum to continue in this direction," he said.
"The PCI has always been highlighting the decisive role played by China in the history of the international communist movement," he said, adding that the CPC's experience accumulated in the past has been the most valuable part that is worth learning for the whole international communist movement.

Ready to offer more support if Covid situation deteriorates in Bangladesh: China
Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh Li Jiming has said China is ready to help Bangladesh with more medical supplies, including medical oxygen, if the situation gets worse as it is facing the second wave of Covid-19.
“China is ready to offer more, if needed,” he said, recalling how Bangladesh and China helped each other in dealing with the first wave of Covid-19.

Ambassador Li said they will do whatever they can during the second wave of Covid-19 in Bangladesh.
He said this pandemic unseen in a century is a global challenge, and past experience keeps reminding them that only through cooperation within the international community they can embrace victory.
“Bangladesh has done what it can to fight the pandemic, and it’s my strong conviction that with the joint efforts of the people of Bangladesh and government, and the help of the international community, Bangladesh’s V-Day over Covid-19 will be just around the corner,” said the Chinese Ambassador.
He made the remarks during a virtual programme organised by the Diplomatic Correspondents Association, Bangladesh (DCAB) on Monday. DCAB President Pantho Rahaman and its General Secretary AKM Moinuddin also spoke at the event.
The Ambassador said it is believed that the safe and reliable Chinese vaccine will play a positive role in the construction of Bangladesh’s anti-epidemic defence line, help the people of Bangladesh to overcome the epidemic, and continue the friendship story between the two countries.
He said, “The virus respects no boundary, and we’re all in this together. Solidarity and cooperation are our most powerful weapon in this war.”
The envoy said China hopes all parties will take real action, provide more vaccines to developing countries, including Bangladesh, and contribute to the equitable distribution and application of vaccines across the world so that we can defeat the virus at an early date.
Some 500,000 doses of Covid-19 vaccines gifted by the Chinese government to Bangladesh will arrive in Dhaka on Wednesday.
Ambassador Li said it is a concrete step towards honoring President Xi Jinping’s pledge of making Covid-19 vaccines a global public good, a solid action taken by both sides towards building a community with a shared future for mankind, and a powerful measure to implement the consensus reached in the recent virtual meeting of Foreign Ministers of China, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka on Covid-19.

This vaccine gift (Sinopharm Covid-19 vaccine) is produced by Beijing Bio-Institute of Biological Products Co Ltd, a subsidiary of China National Biotec Group.
The World Health Organization (WHO) listed the Sinopharm COVID-19 vaccine for emergency use, giving the green light for this vaccine to be rolled out globally. The Sinopharm product is an inactivated vaccine called SARS-CoV-2 Vaccine (Vero Cell).
He said its efficacy for symptomatic and hospitalised disease was estimated to be over 79%, all age groups combined and its easy storage requirements make it highly suitable for low-resource settings.
The envoy said it is also the first vaccine that will carry a vaccine vial monitor, a small sticker on the vaccine vials that change color as the vaccine is exposed to heat, letting health workers know whether the vaccine can be safely used.
Last year, at China’s most trying moments, Bangladesh was among the first countries to donate medical supplies to China in a great act of valuable support.
When the epidemic situation in China eased, China supported Bangladesh’s fight against the virus through various means including gifting medical supplies and sending medical experts.
China offered to gift vaccines to Bangladesh in February but the Embassy did not get the EUA (Emergency Use Authorization) from the government of Bangladesh until April 30.
Though facing difficulties of huge domestic demand and a tight supply of international market, China decided to give priority to ensuring that the vaccines arrive in Bangladesh as soon as possible, said the Ambassador.
He said although it was the May Day holiday in China (five days), many Chinese workers worked overtime and sacrificed personal rest time to rush out these vaccines in less than two weeks.

The Ambassador said it is under the leadership of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and with the great spirit of fighting the pandemic that they are able to conquer the virus.
The year 2021 marks the birth centenary of the CPC which, in the days to come, will continue leading the Chinese people to work relentlessly to fight the pandemic, promote global economic recovery and defend peace, development, equity, justice, democracy and freedom which are shared values of humanity, he said.
