All branches of scheduled banks will remain closed on Tuesday in areas under Bogura-1 and Jashore-6 parliamentary seats which will go to by-polls.

Two parliamentary constituencies –- Bogura-1 and Jashore-6 – are going to by-elections on Tuesday as the Election Commission has completed all necessary preparations.

BNP on Tuesday asked the Election Commission not to hold the parliamentary by-polls to Bogura-1 and Jashore-6 on July 14 next amid this pandemic situation.

Stating that holding any election amid pandemic is unacceptable, BNP has decided not to join the by-polls to Bogura-1 and Jashore-6 constituencies billed for July 14.

Election to Chittagong City Corporation (CCC) and by-elections to Bogura-1 and Jashore -6 seat will be held on March 29.
