Man wanted for triple murder held in Sherpur
A man accused of killing his wife and her parents was arrested with local weapons by police from Khoshalpur Putol village under Sherpur’s Sribardi upazila on Friday morning.
The arrestee has been identified as Mintu Mia, son of Hai Uddin of Geramara village under Sherpur’s Sribardi upazila.

According to Biplab Kumar Bishwas, officer In-charge (OC) of Sribardi police station, Mintu attacked his in-laws' house around 7:00pm on Saturday and hacked a total of six people, including his wife, his father-in-law, and his mother-in-law with a poacher.
The three succummed to wounds later in the night.
The deceased are- Monira Begum, 40, her father Mahmud Hazi, 65, and hee mother Shefali Begum, 60.

The attack left another three people critically injured, who are now undergoing treatment at Mymensingh Medical College Hospital (MMCH).

9 to die in Naogaon for triple murder
A Naogaon court on Monday sentenced nine people to death and another one to imprisonment unto death in a triple murder case in 2014.
Naogaon Additional District and Session Judge court-2, Hasan Mahmudul Islam handed down the judgment.
The condemned convicts are—Saidul Isalm, Aijul Haque, Helal Hossain, Jalal Hossain, Belal Hossain, Zayed Ali, Abul Hossain, Mostafa and Shohag Ali of Badalgachi upazila. Of them, Saidul, Zayed and Shohagh were tried in absentia.
The court also fined them Tk 50,000 each.
The convict who got jail unto death is Hashem Ali.

According to the prosecution, Shahidul Islam, his brother Amzad Hossain and Abdul Wadud had been at loggerheads with Hashem Ali, Saidul Islam and Aijul Hossain over the ownership of a piece of land.
As a sequel to the enmity, on June 6, 2014, the convicts attacked on Shahidul, Amzad Hossain and Wadud with sharp weapons, leaving them dead.
Farhad Hossain, son of Shahidul Islam, lodged a complaint with Badalgachi Police against 24 people on the following day.
Police filed an FIR in this connection.
On December 5, 2021, police submitted a chargesheet against 20 people in the case.
After examining records and witnesses, the court handed down the judgment and acquitted ten people as allegations brought against them could not be proved.

Case filed in Kadamtali triple murder: police
A case was lodged with Kadamtali police station in the capital early Sunday in connection with the killing of a couple and their daughter, police said.
Police recovered the bodies of Masud Rana, 50, his wife Moushumi Islam and their daughter Jannatul from the flat located on the 1st floor of a multistoried building at 274/1 Lal Mia Sarder Road of Muradpur under Kadamtoli police station on Saturday.
Shakhwat Hossain, a brother of the victim Masud Rana filed the case accusing Masud Rana’s daughter Mehjabin and her husband Shafiqul Islam.

A murder case has been filed accusing daughter Mehejabin and her husband Shafiqul Islam Aranya for allegedly killing her parents and sister, said Officer-in-charge of Kadamtoli police station Jamal Uddin.
The case was filed by Masud Rana's elder brother Shakhawat Hossain.
Police have already arrested Mehjabin soon after the incident, while her husband Shafiqul Islam Aranya is being treated in police custody at Mitford Hospital in the capital, the OC said.
Police suspected that Mehzabin killed her father Masud Rana, mother Mausumi and sister Jannatul on Friday night over a family feud.

The victims had scars on their necks. Police believe they were strangled to death after being first given sleeping pills or drugs.
Police said Mehzabin called the National Emergency Service 999 after the killings on Friday night and informed the police that she had killed her parents and her sister.
She also informed the police that her husband and daughter were sleeping in bed. "I can kill them too. I can kill myself. You come early. Catch me," she said.

Case filed over Sylhet triple murder
A case was filed in connection with the killing of three people including two children in Goainghat upazila of Sylhet district.
Father of slain Alema filed the case with Goainghat Police Station early Thursday, said officer-in-charge of the police station Abdul Ahad.

Earlier on Wednesday, three people including two minor children were found dead at a house at Binnakandi South para in the upazila.
The deceased were identified as Alema, 30, wife of Hifzur Rahman and her two children—Mizan 8, and Anisa, 3. Hifzur was found wounded during the incident.

Hifzur is now undergoing treatment at Sylhet Osmani Medical College and Hospital under police custody.
According to the local people, miscreants swooped on the house sometime in the night and stabbed Alema to death and killed the two babies after slitting their throats.

They also hit Hifzur with sharp weapons, leaving him injured.
Police suspected that miscreants carried out the attack over previous enmity.

Police yet to trace husband in Dakkhinkhan triple murder case
Police are yet to trace the suspected killer husband in connection with the killing of his wife and two children whose bodies were found at their Dakkhinkhan residence on Thursday evening.
