Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club, coming from behind twice, drew 2-2 with Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club in a Group A match of the Bashundhara Group Federation Cup Football 2022-23 at the Sheikh Fazlul Haque Moni Stadium in Gopalganj on Tuesday. The match was also locked in 1-1 goal in the first half. Local medio Arif Hossain put the traditional black and whites Mohammedan SC ahead in the 28th minute (1-0) while St Vincent forward Stewart leveled the margin for Sheikh Jamal in the 44th minute (1-1). In the day's match, coming from behind, Rahmatganj MFS beat Azampur FC, Uttara by 2-1 goal at the Shaheed Dhirendranath Dutta Stadium in Cumilla on Tuesday. Rohit Sarkar scored first for Azampur FC in the very 6th minute.(1-0). But,  forwards Velencia and Ashraful Islam scored two quick goals in span of only three minutes (71st and 74th minutes)  to win the match (2-1).

With the day's well merited victory, Sheikh Russel KC clinched the Group A title with unbeaten record securing seven points from all the three group encounters while the traditional black and while Dhaka Mohammedan also qualified for the quarterfinal as the Group A runners-up, collecting six points from three outings. This was the first defeat for Mohammedan SC in the tourney after two consecutive wins--against Bangladesh Navy by 2-0 goals and Fortis SC by 3-1 goals while it was the 2nd successive win for Sheikh Russel KC after beating Bangladesh Navy by 2-0 goals in the previous match following their 1-1 draw with Fortis FC in the first match. In the day's match, medio Brossou scored first for the Sheikh Russel KC in the very 2nd minute of the match (1-0), forward Mohammad Ibrahim doubled the margin in the 51st minute (2-0) while Nigerian striker Sunday Udoh sealed the fate of the match scoring the 3rd goal for the winners in the 59th minute (3-0). In the day's other match, coming from behind, Fortis Football Academy tasted first victory in their 3rd match defeating all-losers Bangladesh Navy by 3-1 goals at the Shaheed Dhirendranath Dutta Stadium in Cumilla Monday afternoon. Afghan striker Amiruddin Sharifi struck twice in the 17th and 44th minutes while Brazilion player Luis Carlos netted the other goal for Fortis FC in the 61st minute. Forward Shakawat Hossain scored the lone goal for the sailors' team in the very 7th minute of the match.

In a titans battle, six times Champions Dhaka Abahani Limited beat their traditional  rival Dhaka Mohammedan SC by 4-2 goal in the 16th round match of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) at Shaheed Direndranath Dutta Stadium in Cumilla on Wednesday. With the day's well merited victory, the popular sky-blue Dhanmondi outfit Abahani keep their slim  hope of title alive securing 35 points from 16 matches and remained at the 2nd  slot in the league table. Dhaka Mohammedan SC made a good start in the season’s curtain raiser meet, the Independence Cup Football 21 beating Muktijoddha Sangsad KC by 2-1 goals at Bir Shrestha Shahid Shapahi Mohammad Mostafa Kamal Stadium, Kamalapur on Sunday. Souleymane Diabate put Mohammedan SC ahead in the 36th minute (1-0) while Shahed Miah doubled the black and whites margin in the 50th minute (2-0). Dhaka Abahani Limited and Dhaka Mohammedan SC made flying start in the SIBL Club Cup Hockey Tournament outplaying their rivals in the opening day’s matches at the Maulana Bhashani National Stadium here on Thursday. In the day’s opening match, Dhaka Mohammedan SC outplayed Ajax SC by 8-2 goals featuring four goals by Ashraful Islam in the 16th, 25th, 36th and 58th minutes. Dhaka Mohammedan SC earned a 4-1 victory over Uttar Baridhara Club Saturday in the 13-team Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) Football 2020-21. Despite the win at the Bangabandhu National Stadium, Mohammedan remained at the fourth spot in the league table, securing 32 points from 18 matches; Uttar Baridhara Club stayed at the ninth slot with 15 points from 17 encounters.
