Rajshahi sees 18 more Covid-19 deaths in 24 hrs
Eighteen more Covid patients have died at Rajshahi Medical College Hospital (RMCH) in 24 hours till Sunday morning, health officials said.

Six of the patients died of Covid-19 while seven died with symptoms of the virus and the remaining died with post-Covid complications, said Director General of the hospital Brigadier General Shamim Yazdani.
Besides, six of them were from Rajshahi district, four from Natore, one each from Chapainawabganj and Kushtia and three each from Naogaon and Pabna districts.
Besides, 140 people have tested positive for Covid at the hospital during the 24-hour period. Some 428 samples were tested in two laboratories of the district during the period, the director said.

Currently, 418 patients are undergoing treatment at the hospital which has 513 beds.
RMCH has been one of the most stretched hospitals in the country during the second wave of Covid-19, particularly since the latter part of May when the deadly Delta variant of the virus was identified in multiple samples in Rajshahi division.

17 more people die of Covid at RMCH
Seventeen more Covid patients have died at Rajshahi Medical College Hospital (RMCH) in the past 24 hours, health officials said on Sunday.
Director Brigadier General Shamim Yazdani said of the deceased, five tested positive while 11 others had symptoms of the virus.

Six of them were from Rajshahi district, two each from Chapainawabganj and Pabna, four from Natore and one each from Naogaon, Bogura and Jhenaidah districts.
Some 315 people died of Covid-19 at the corona unit of RMCH from July 1 to 18.

Besides, 60 more new patients have been admitted to the hospital with Covid symptoms in the past 24 hours. Currently, 507 patients are undergoing treatment at the 454-bed hospital.

15 more people die of Covid at RMCH
Fifteen more people have died of Covid-19 at Rajshahi Medical College Hospital (RMCH) in the last 24 hours till 8 am Friday, said hospital authorities.
Five of them tested positive and two died with post Covid complications while eight others died with symptoms, including shortness of breath.

RMCH Director Brigadier General Shamim Yazdani said 10 of the deceased were from Rajshahi, two from Natore, one from each from Naogaon, Pabna and Meherpur districts.
Sixty-one people were admitted to RMCH during the period and 72 people were discharged after recovery.

So far, 496 people have been admitted to the 454-bed Covid unit of the hospital including 20 at the ICU.

19 more Covid patients die in RMCH
Nineteen more Covid patients have died at Rajshahi Medical College Hospital (RMCH) in the last 24 hours, health officials said on Thursday .
Of the deceased, five were confirmed Covid patients, while14 others had symptoms of the virus, said hospital director Brigadier General Shamim Yazdani.

14 more people die of Covid-19 at RMCH
Fourteen more Covid patients have died at Rajshahi Medical College Hospital (RMCH) in the last 24 hours, health officials said on Monday.

Of the deceased, 6 were confirmed Covid patients while the remaining eight exhibited symptoms of the virus, said hospital director Brigadier General Shamim Yazdani.
Besides, 64 more new patients have been admitted to the hospital with Covid symptoms in the past 24 hours. Currently, 518 patients are undergoing treatment at the hospital which has 454 beds.

“After a decline in Covid-19 cases for the fifth straight day, the infection rate in the district is rising again. On Sunday, the authorities reported 152 new cases after testing 513 samples in two laboratories,” said Shamim.
The positivity rate climbed up to 29.63 % on Sunday with the fresh cases from Saturday’s 25.05%, a leap of 4.58%.

The authorities recorded 22 deaths in the district on July 1, the highest single-day toll so far.
Some 354 people died of Covid-19 at the corona unit of RMCH in June last.
"Meanwhile, 124 people have tested positive for corona at the hospital during the 24-hour period. Some 495 samples were tested in two laboratories of the district during the period," the director said.
The positivity rate currently stands at 25.50%.

However, the district's daily new Covid cases has recorded a marginal decline, with 88 people testing positive for corona in 24 hours that's 8.41% less than a day before.

Hospital Director Brigadier General Shamim Yazdani said that three of the deceased were confirmed Covid patients, while the remaining showed symptoms of the virus.
Of the deceased, 10 were from Rajshahi district, two each from Chapainawabganj, Naogaon and Natore, and one each from Kushtia and Sirajganj districts.

"Meanwhile, 88 people have tested positive for corona at the hospital in the past 24 hours. A total of 479 samples were tested in two laboratories of the district during the period," the director said.
The positivity rate currently stands at 18.16%, which was 26.57% a day before.

Shamim Yazdani also said that 74 people have been admitted to the corona unit of the hospital in 24 hours. During the period, 52 people were discharged from the hospital after recovery.
Moreover, 501 people are currently undergoing treatment against 454 beds at the corona unit of the hospital. Among them, 20 patients are in the ICU.

Shamim Yazdani also said 70 people were admitted to the corona unit of the hospital in 24 hours till Thursday morning.
Forty-eight people were discharged from the hospital after recovery during the period.
Moreover, 485 people are currently undergoing treatment against 454 beds at the corona unit of the hospital. Among them, 20 patients are undergoing treatment in the ICU.

RMCH sees 12 more Covid deaths in 24 hrs
Rajshahi Medical College Hospital (RMCH) recorded 12 more deaths from Coronavirus infection in 24 hours until 6 am on Tuesday.
Among them, eight were Covid-19 patients while the rest four died after showing Covid-19 symptoms at the hospital, said director of the hospital Brigadier General Shamim Yeazdani.

Of the deceased, three were from Rajshahi, seven from Chapainawabganj, one each from Natore and Naogaon districts.
A total of 148 people have died of Covid-19 in Rajshahi division in the last 15 days till Tuesday morning as situation is worsening in different border districts.
Shamim Yazdani said 58 people were admitted to the Corona unit of the hospital in 24 hours till Tuesday morning.
Of them, 39 are from Rajshahi, eight from Chapainawabganj, four from Natore, five from Naogaon and two from Kushtia.

Forty-three people were discharged from the hospital after recovery during the period.
Besides, 325 people are undergoing treatment against 273 beds at the Corona unit of the hospital.
Of them, 189 are from Rajshahi, 82 from Chapainawabganj, 17 from Natore, 26 from Naogaon, four from Pabna, six from Kushtia and one from Chuadanga.

However, the hospital authorities are providing treatment after arranging additional beds, said Shamim.
As the coronavirus situation in Rajshahi kept worsening the district administration imposed a strict lockdown from 5pm on June 4 till June 17 midnight.
