Fire at Mohakhali Filling Station: Death toll rises to 3
The death toll from the fire at a fuel filling station in Dhaka’s Mohakhali area on December 6 rose to three, with the deaths of two more people on Sunday and today.
The deceased were identified as Md Salauddin, 38, son of Nur Hossain of Feni district, and Amir Hossain Sumon, 32, son of Selim Hossain of Chandpur district.

Dr Tariqul Islam, resident medical officer of the Sheikh Hasina Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery, said that Salauddin, who had 35 percent burn injuries, passed away at 10:15 pm last night while Amir Hossain, with 65 percent burn injuries, died at 7:20 am today.
Amir was a cashier of the filling station, and Salauddin was the repairman.

The bodies were kept at the Dhaka Medical College and Hospital morgue, said Inspector Bachhu Mia, in-charge of Dhaka Medical College and Hospital police camp.
On December 6, eight people suffered burn injuries in an explosion at Royal Filling Station while a gas line was being repaired.

Of the injured, Abul Khayer, an engineer, died after the explosion, while Mohammad Mamun, Masum, Md Rana, Kamal Abedin, and Jibon were undergoing treatment at the hospital.

8 burnt in explosion at petrol pump in Dhaka's Mohakhali
At least eight people suffered burn injuries after a gas cylinder exploded at the Royal Filling Station in Dhaka’s Mokhakhali on Wednesday.
Tejgaon Industrial Area Police Station Sub-Inspector (SI) Anath Mitra along with locals took them to the Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery.
The injured are Md Salauddin (38), Mohammad Mamun (30), Masum (25), Amir Hossain Sumon (32), Md Rana (30), Kamal Abedin (50), Jibon (21) and Engineer Khair Gazi (44).
Employees at the BN Filling Station, next to the Royal Filling Station, also suffered burns, rescuers said.
4 injured in explosion in Dhaka’s Agargaon
None of the injured are out of danger, said Dr Md Tariqul Islam, a resident physician at the burn institute.
Kamrul Hasan, an employee of Royal Filling Station, said the work of the gas line was going on for three days at the filling station. “I came to know that there was a fire incident during testing today. A total of eight people, including four from our filling station, were burnt there.”
Earlier, the fire broke out on Wednesday at 8:08 pm.

Youth crushed under wheels of train in Mohakhali
A youth was crushed under the wheels of a train in Mohakhali rail gate area of the capital Friday, Government Railway Police (GRP) said.
Though the identity of the victim could not be known immediately, he was aged between 20 to 25 years.
Sanu Mong, assistant sub inspector at Dhaka Railway Police Station in GRP, quoting witnesses said that the accident happened around 11.30am when the Kamalapur-bound train ‘Agnebeena’ hit him when he was crossing the train track while on his mobile phone in the rail gate area.

The impact from the accident severed his body into two parts, Mong said, adding that on information they recovered the body.
The body was sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy after completing legal procedures, the ASI added.

Gridlock from Uttara to Mohakhali: Dhaka traffic paralyzed
Commuters in Dhaka have been stuck for hours in traffic jam today (September 13, 2022).
Rain, that started from the morning, caused traffic chaos in several points of Dhaka, including Tongi, Uttara, Airport, Mohakhali, Bijoy Sarani and Bangla Motor areas. Vehicles were seen stalled for hours on the road.
