Youth stabbed dead over trifling matter in Kurigram
A youth was stabbed to death over a trifling matter at Harijan Palli near the old railway station in Kurigram town on Monday morning.
The deceased was identified as Rahul Bashphor, 18, son of Pradeep Bashphor of Kacharibazar area in Gaibandha.

Quoting locals, Kurigram Sadar police station Officer-in-Charge Khan Shahriar, said the wedding party of Roni Bashphor, son of Swapan Bashphor of Kacharipara area of Gaibandha district, and Antra Rani (18) Bashphor, daughter of Sumon Harijan was going on at Harijan Palli.
The bride and the bridegroom sides locked into an altercation around 8:30 am.
At one stage of altercation, Rahul Bashphor was hacked by one of the men of the bride party, leaving him critically injured.

Later, he was rushed to Kurigram General Hospital where doctors declared him dead.
At least 4 people were injured during the clash, he said.
No case has been filed yet in this regard, the OC added.

Sexagenarian man beaten dead over 'trifling matter' in Chattogram
A sexagenarian man was beaten to death by a group of youths in Lalkhan Bazar area of Chattogram city on Sunday night.
The deceased was identified as Abdul Malek, 65.
A woman named Anwara Begum Anu, 40, was detained in this connection.
According to the locals, an altercation ensued between two neighbours over the stockpiling bricks, stones and other garbage on the side of Hatachala Road in Motijharna 5th Street of Lalkhan Bazar.
When Abdul Malek stepped up and tried stopping the groups from fighting, some drunken youths including Alauddin and Rigan started beating him mercilessly with sticks, kicked him and threw stones at him.
Locals later rescued injured Abdul Malek and took him to Chattogram Medical College and Hospital where doctors declared him dead, CMCH police outpost sub-inspector Ashiq.
“The body of the deceased has been kept at the morgue of CMCH,” he added.
Family members of the deceased alleged that Khulshi police were present at the time but played the role of silent spectators.
Although the accused have been on the run ever since, police detained Anwara Begum Anu, wife of Alauddin, over the incident.
An uneasy calm is currently prevailing in Lalkhan Bazar following the murder.
Khulshi Police Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mohammad Shahinuzzaman said an old man was killed following a quarrel between two families over a trivial matter.”We are trying to arrest the killers.”

Two youths killed in Chattogram
Two youths were killed in an attack by their rivals over a trifling matter at Bhuiya Para in Sitakunda upazila on Thursday night.
The deceased were identified as Mohammad Zahid, 25, son of Abbas Ali and Mohamamd Shaheen, 24, son of NayebAli of the upazila.
Quoting witnesses, police said Zahid and Shaheen had an altercation with some youths over smoking few days ago.
On Thursday, some youths including Imam Hossain, Tarek, Taiab, Ayub asked them to meet at the rail station in the area for settling the issue.
When they went to the area, the youths stabbed Zahid and Shaheen with sharp weapon, leaving them critically injured.
Later, they were taken to a hospital where doctors declared them dead.
