India's decision to lift a ban on onion exports from January 1 may have provided some relief to Bangladeshi consumers but has led to a wave of anger among importers.

Indian onion started to roll in at Dinajpur’s Hili land port on Saturday after three and half months of the export ban.

India recent condition for onion export through waterways has irked the traders at Hili land port.

The government of India on Monday prohibited the export of all varieties of onion except in cut, sliced or powdered form.

After a gap of almost six months, Bangladesh started importing onions from India through the country’s two land ports on Sunday.
