Moving car ploughs through students on Airport Road, 3 injured
Three students were injured when a private car hit them on the Dhaka-Mymensingh highway near Dhaka’s Airport Road on Sunday.
The accident occurred near the third terminal of Shahjalal International Airport, said Mustafizur Rahman, inspector (Investigation) of the Airport Police Station.
The identities of the injured students have not yet been confirmed.

Local residents rushed them to a nearby hospital.
Upon receiving the information, police seized the private car and arrested the driver.
The footage of the incident went viral on social media, showing a white private car ploughing through a group of students in front of the third terminal.

PM takes regular commercial flight on the way home from Geneva, exchanges pleasantries with passengers
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Saturday (June 17, 2023) surprised passengers of a regular commercial flight of the state-run Biman Bangladesh Airlines.
On her way back home from Geneva, she roamed around the fight and exchanged pleasantries with the passengers.

Passengers on the fully packed commercial flight of Biman were pleasantly surprised when she went to their seats and asked about their wellbeing.
“Many of them were surprised and astonished having their Prime Minister just beside their seats on the flight,” PM’s speechwriter M Nazrul Islam told UNB.
Sheikh Hasina, elder daughter of the Father of the Nation, also obliged their requests for photographs.

She spoke to children with great affection and took several of them on her lap.
Some of the passengers expressed their opinions to the Prime Minister on various issues, including development of the country in the last 14 and a half years.

Two held with 2.30 lakh USD at Dhaka airport
Two persons, including a Turkish national, have been detained at Shahjalal International Airport for allegedly trying to smuggle out 2.30 lakh US dollars, Customs officials said Thursday.
Tipped off, a Customs team detained 42-year-old Turkish national, identified as Mehmet Remzi Calik, as he was passing through boarding bridge No 10 around 10.30pm on Wednesday.

Subsequent checking of his baggage led to the seizure of 2 lakh US dollars, said Harun-or-Rashid, assistant revenue officer at Dhaka Customs House.
On the other hand, Customs officials intercepted Mahmuda Firoz, 70, as she was about to board an Emirates flight to the US around 7.30pm and seized 30,500 US dollars from her possession.

Complaints were lodged against the detainees with the Airport Police. "They have also been handed over to the cops," an official said.
