HC orders providing protective equipment to physicians, nurses
The High Court on Sunday asked the authorities concerned to take immediate steps to collect and supply personal protective equipment (PPE) to the physicians, nurses and others working at different hospitals.
Justice Md Ashraful Kamal and Justice Sardar Md Rashed Jahangir came up with the order following a petition in this regard.
The HC also asked the authorities concerned to form a committee for making a list of PPE, surgical mask, gown, shoe-cover, gloves and hand sanitizers. The committee was asked to provide the list within 48 hours.
The committee will include Health secretary, Director General of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), Director of IEDCR and Director of Central Medical Stores Depot.
The Finance Ministry has been asked to allocate money for procuring the equipment as per the list.
Advocate Ekhlas Uddin Bhuiya and two other lawyers on behalf of the Human Rights and Peace for Bangladesh filed the writ with the High Court seeking order to provide necessary equipment to the physicians , nurses and other concerned at different hospitals.
