Edotco sets up 15,000th tower in Bangladesh
Malaysia-based integrated telecommunications infrastructure services company Edotco recently set up its 15,000th tower in Bangladesh.
Ahammad Jubaer Ali, caretaker country managing director of Edotco, said: "Along with actively collaborating with other industry participants in Bangladesh's telecom ecosystem, we are advancing the sector by supplying the necessary shared infrastructure and next-generation technology."

Edotco Bangladesh has been at the forefront of the country's tower infrastructure landscape since 2013. It provides end-to-end solutions in the tower services sector – from tower leasing, co-locations, and build-to-suit to energy management, and passive maintenance.

Since its inception, the company has continued shaping the telecom industry across the region by providing innovative and sustainable infra solutions. Bangladesh is one of the key Asian markets: edotco Group CEO
Edotco Group Director and Group Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Mohamed Adlan Ahmad Tajudin has said Bangladesh is one of the key markets for the regional and integrated telecommunications infrastructure services company.
"We also recognise our talent in Bangladesh and have established a Centre for Design Excellence here, serving as an innovation research centre for our clients in the country and the rest of our footprint markets across the Group," Adlan said during a discussion with the Telecom and Technology Reporters' Network Bangladesh Thursday.
The edotco Group CEO arrived in Dhaka from Kuala Lumpur for his first official visit to Bangladesh earlier this week.

The core agenda of Adlan's visit was to get a first-hand perspective of the fastest-growing markets in Asia and to gain insight into how Bangladesh contributes to Asia's resilience, dynamism, and growth.
As part of his work visit to Dhaka, Adlan had meetings with the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission officials, telecom operators, edotco's clients, and other industry stakeholders.
Adlan was appointed as Group CEO of edotco Group in November 2020, with over 17 years of experience in the telecommunications field. Before his current role, he served as the chief financial officer and director of PT XL Axiata Tbk (Indonesia).
Over the years, edotco brought many unique and environment-friendly designs such as bamboo towers, carbon towers, low-cost structures, SPC towers, and hybrid solar wind towers to fulfil connectivity demands in Bangladesh. It has employed more than 400 people nationwide.

edotco wins multiple awards at the Global Best Employer Awards 2022
edotco Bangladesh Ltd., an integrated telecommunications infrastructure services company, has recently won multiple awards at the Global Best Employer Awards 2022 in Excellence in Training, Talent Management, and Managing Health at Work categories.
In the individual categories, Ricky Steyn, Country Managing Director, clinched the Best Corporate Strategy Award, and Rizwan Hamid Quraishi, Director, Human Resources, took home the award for HR Professional of the Year. The awards were officially announced at Taj Lands End, Mumbai, on May 6, 2022 which was attended by leading business leaders, edotco said in a statement on Tuesday.
The Global Best Employer Awards 2022 is an annual event organised by the Employer Branding Institute in collaboration with World HRD Congress.

Recognitions were awarded across 13 different categories to organisations, HR teams and individuals for their outstanding work across the HR function in Asia.

Edotco's solar street lamp project launched
Edotco Bangladesh, an integrated telecommunications infrastructure services company, has launched its first solar lamp CSR Project in Ramu and Kutubdia of Cox's Bazar to enhance the rural communities' livelihood by providing free electricity.
The solar street lamps are installed in the vicinity of the two edotco towers to light up the streets, used mainly by the local community at night, will benefit over 2,800 people.
The initiative will allow residents in the area to continue their day-to-day work and business even after sunset, resulting in the overall economic progress of the community.

It will also ensure a better sense of safety, particularly for children and women, as the project now allows them to use the streets at night with ease and comfort.
Ricky Steyn, country managing director of edotco Bangladesh, said: "We have always emphasised improving the lives of the underprivileged community living nearby our towers. We are delighted to launch effective and sustainable solutions like the Solar Lamp Project to provide free electricity in remote areas by harnessing solar energy."
The Solar Street Lamp CSR initiative is part of edotco Bangladesh's Tower2Power project.

Launched in 2016, the project is one of edotco's local initiatives that has enhanced the livelihoods of over 4,000 households with free electricity.

Edotco wins 'Asia Pacific Telecoms Tower Company of The Year' Award
Edotco Group (edotco), an end-to-end integrated telecommunications infrastructure services company, has been presented with the Frost & Sullivan award of "Asia Pacific Telecoms Tower Company of the Year,'' for 2021, for the fifth consecutive year.
Alongside this prestigious award, the company also announced that it has achieved the Top 10 Global tower company ranking, according to the TowerXchange.

Adlan Tajudin, chief executive officer of edotco Group, said: "Both of these achievements recognise our work across the region. We have continued to play the role of key infrastructure partner in the nations we are present."
In 2020 edotco deployed a series of sustainable design innovations and renewable energy offerings across its footprint as well as initiated partnerships towards the deployment of smart street furniture and next-generation technologies in their mature operating countries.

The organisation also reported successfully reducing its carbon emissions by 58% per site while continuing to champion sustainability infrastructure development and practices throughout the region.
Edotco announced its break into the Top 10 Global Towerco ranking for the first time with a portfolio of 34,100 towers.

"So far in 2021, our key achievements include completing our first build to suit tower in the Philippines, signing new large deals in Bangladesh and being appointed as technology partners by Permodalan Nasional Berhad (PNB) to equip the upcoming tallest skyscraper in Malaysia with next-generation telecommunications solutions. In the next couple of years, we aspire to break into at least three new markets, repurpose our product portfolio to include fibre and small cells as we reposition ourselves to take on new challenges within the industry and at the same time reshape the organisation to be analytics and data-driven," Adlan said.
Frost & Sullivan Asia Pacific Best Practices Awards recognise best-in-class companies that excel in their respective business segments, as well as their efforts to develop the industry in 2020.
