The Bangladesh B team of Shafiqul Islam and Liton Mondal took the solo lead in the men's team event of the Orion 36th Bangladesh Amateur Golf Championship 2023 Wednesday, scoring 143 after the first round on the first day at the Kurmitola Golf Club. The South Korean team scored 145 and the Indian team 147. The Bangladesh A team finished in the fifth spot, scoring 150. The Bangladesh C team finished in the sixth spot, scoring 154. In the men's singles, Arav D Shah of Australia and Shat Mishra of India topped the list making two under par 70 each. Liton Mondal of Bangladesh and Beonggu Kim of South Korea finished in the third spot with one under par 71.

The Bangladesh-Turkiye Friendship Golf Tournament, sponsored by the Bangladesh-Turkiye Business Forum, was held at the Bhatiary Golf and Country Club Saturday. Thirty-five golfers from Tigers Golf Club and 16 golfers from Bhatiary Golf Club took part in the day-long tournament.

The Los Angeles County sheriff on Wednesday characterized the crash that seriously injured Tiger Woods as “purely an accident" and appeared to rule out any potential criminal charges even as authorities were still investigating.

Tiger Woods was seriously injured Tuesday when his SUV crashed into a median, rolled over and ended up on its side near a steep road in suburban Los Angeles known for wrecks, authorities said. The golf superstar had to be pulled out through the windshield, and his agent said he underwent leg surgery.

The Bangabandhu Cup Golf Open 2020, the US$400,000 Asian Tour event that was poised to become the most lucrative professional golf event in Bangladesh, scheduled for March 25-28 at the Kurmitola Golf Club in Dhaka, has been postponed due to the ongoing COVID-19 concerns.

Bangladesh 'A' Golf team studded with Mohammad Farhad and Md Shomrat Sikder clinched the team title of the Mujib Barsho Cup Amateur Golf Championship 2020 scoring two under par (146 + 140) 286 on the 2nd day of the meet at the Kurmitola Golf Course here on Thursday.
