Agrani Bank branch in Kushtia put under lockdown
Local administration has put Agrani Bank Kumarkhali branch under lockdown as five employees of the bank tested positive for coronavirus recently.
Rajibul Islam Khan, Kumarkhali Upazila Nirbahi Officer, confirmed the matter on Friday.
Hasen Ali, a senior officer of the bank, was diagnosed with coronavirus on July 3, said bank manager Hossain Shaheed Suhrawardi.
Later, another officer of the bank Imtiaz Zaman was found infected with the virus on July 6, he said.
The bank authorities arranged samples tests of all the employees of the branch.
Three more officials of the bank branch tested positive for coronavirus on July 9 after testing, forcing the local administration to put the bank under lockdown.

Covid-19: Uttar Kattali put under lockdown in Chattogram
Although 10 areas were identified as ‘Red Zones’ in the port city of Chattogram, the local administration put Uttar Kattali in Ward-10 under complete lockdown for the next 21 days early Tuesday.
Mohammad Samsuddoha, chief executive officer, Chattogram City Corporation (CCC), said, “The other red zones will be brought under lockdown gradually.”
CCC Coronavirus prevention committee members said the committee took the decision after consulting with the government officials concerned.
All the red zones will be brought under lockdown, they said adding that the decision was taken on June 14.
Red Zones in Chattogram
The government on Sunday announced 11 areas as red zones in Chattogram-- Chittagong port, (Ward-38), Patenga (Ward-39), Chittagong Port (Ward-39), Pahartali (ward-10), Kotwali (ward 16), Khulshi (Ward 14), Kotwali (Ward 20), Kotwali (Ward-21), Halishohor (Ward-26), Chittagong Port (Ward -37) and Kotwali (Ward -22).
CCC Executive Officer Mohammad Samsuddoha said the exit and entry from and to the lockdown areas will be restricted strictly.
The necessary goods, medicines will be reached to people at home during the lockdown, he said adding that the central control room on behalf of City Corporation will supervise the activities.

50 houses put under lockdown in Bagerhat
Local administration on Thursday put 50 houses at Boro Badura village in Morelganj upazila under lockdown as a man tested positive for Covid-19 after his death with fever and cold.
Deputy commissioner Mohamamd Mamunur Rashid, said a 40-year-old man of the village died with fever and cold in Dhaka and his body was taken to his home village on Monday.
On April 27, a medical team collected samples from the body and the result was found on Wednesday which showed him positive for the virus.
Bagerhat Civil Surgeon Dr AKM Humayun Kabir said the man was a hawker and he died in Dhaka. He was a diabetic patient.
Samples of 13 people, who came close to the body were collected and sent for lab test, said Dr Kamal Hossain of Morelganj Upazila Health Complex.

Pabna’s Chatmohor upazila put under lockdown
Local administration put the Chatmohor upazila here under lockdown as a man was diagnosed with coronavirus for the first time in the district on Thursday.
Sarkar Mohamamd Raihan, Upazila Nirbahi Officer announced the decision around 11 pm.
A resident of the upazila, who recently came from Narayanganj district, tested positive for coronavirus on Thursday and he was sent to home quarantine, he said.
The local administration took the decision to prevent spread of coronavirus, he said.

Sunamganj goes under lockdown
The district administration here on Sunday put the district under lockdown to prevent the spread of coronavirus.
Deputy commissioner Abdul Ahad made the announcement in the afternoon.
All the emergency services will remain out of the purview of the restriction, he said.
Bangladesh on Sunday recorded the highest number of coronavirus cases in a day as 139 more people tested positive for the virus, raising the total number to 621.
Besides, four more people died from the disease in the last 24 hours, raising the death toll to 34.

2 buildings, one tin-shed house under lockdown in Mirpur
Two multistoried buildings and a tin-shed house in Mirpur-1 area were put under lockdown on Sunday after two members of a family were found positive for coronavirus.
Mostafizur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Mirpur Police station, said two members of a family, living in the area near Mirpur-1 over bridge got infected with coronavirus.
The authorities concerned from the Institute of Epidemiology, Disease Control and Research (IEDCR) took them from their house in the morning.
Later, the law enforcers went to the spot and put the two buildings with 18-20 families and the tin-shed house in the area under lockdown.
Another person died from coronavirus and 18 more people tested positive for the virus during the last 24 hours, said Health Minister Zahid Maleque on Sunday.
“Death toll from the virus infection is now nine. Eighteen more people were tested positive for coronavirus in the last 24hours, raising the number of cases to 88,” he said in an online briefing.

Three Bogura houses under lockdown
Local administration has put three houses at Shiali village in Dhunat upazila under lockdown after a man with coronavirus symptoms was admitted to the isolation unit of Mohammad Ali Hospital.
The local administration put the three houses under lockdown on Thursday night as safety measure, said Razia Sultana, Upazila Nirbahi Officer adding that food will be supplied to the houses.

Rangamati house under lockdown
Local administration has put a house under lockdown after detecting presence of a man with coronavirus symptoms there at West Muslimpara Block in Baghaichari upazila on Saturday.
Baghaichari Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Ahasan Habib Jitu made this announcement around 11:30 am and asked the people of the neighbouring houses to stay in 14- day home quarantine to avoid transmission of deadly COVID-19.
The UNO said on information that an Ansar member is staying in the house with symptoms of COVID-19 and his return from the capital he came to the spot and declared the house lockdown for the safety of the neighbours.
