Two new dengue cases were reported in the last 24 hours till 8am on Tuesday, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).   A daily update from DGHS said two patients were being treated at hospitals in the capital for dengue.   Since the beginning of this year, 294 dengue cases were reported. Of them, 292 had been discharged from hospitals.   Bangladesh experienced a massive dengue outbreak last year when 101,354 people were hospitalised. Of them, 101,037 made full recovery.   According to official figures, the mosquito-borne disease killed 179 people in 2019.

Three new dengue patients were hospitalised in the last 24 hours till 8am on Tuesday, said the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).   According to daily update from the DGHS, six dengue patients are being treated at hospitals in the capital while one at a district hospital.   Since the beginning of this year, 287 dengue cases were reported. Of them, 280 had been discharged from hospitals.   Bangladesh experienced a massive dengue outbreak last year.   The government confirmed that dengue had claimed the lives of 164 people last year.   The Institute of Epidemiology, Disease Control and Research (IEDCR) confirmed the number after reviewing 263 out of 266 reports of dengue-related deaths.   Last year, 101,354 people were hospitalised with dengue in the country. Of them, 101,037 made full recovery.

Of them, 272 had been discharged from hospitals.   Bangladesh experienced a massive dengue outbreak last year when 101,354 people were hospitalised across the country. Of them, 101,037 made full recovery.   According to official figures, the mosquito-borne disease killed 179 people in 2019.

Although Dhaka city-dwellers have been complaining that they are suffering a lot due to increase in culex mosquitoes, the authorities concerned of both the Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) and Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) claimed that their employees are working up to the maximum of their abilities to kill adult mosquitoes.
