RFL opens bicycle factory in Rangpur
To meet the growing demand for bicycles locally and internationally, RFL Group opened another factory at Gangachara in Rangpur on Thursday.
Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi inaugurated the bicycle factory Thursday.
Apart from manufacturing bicycles, the factory will manufacture frames, forks, tires, tubes, and some other bicycle components. The factory has received an investment of around Tk60 crore and will employ around 1,000 people.

RFL has been manufacturing and marketing bicycles since 2014. The first bicycle factory of RFL is located at Shayestaganj in Habiganj. The factory now has an annual production capacity of eight lakh pieces of bicycles.
The company said its bicycles are now exported to 15 countries, including England, the Netherlands, Denmark, Germany, Austria and Belgium.

Ahsan Khan Chowdhury, chairman and CEO of Pran-RFL Group, said: "All the bicycles for the local market will be manufactured from this factory. The factory's annual production capacity will be six lakh pieces once it is fully operational."

PRAN-RFL group wins six trophies for its export prowess
PRAN-RFL Group has secured the highest national export trophies for its outstanding contribution to export segment for FY 2018-19.
This business giant received six trophies, including gold, out of the 71 companies nominated for the trophies, from the Commerce Ministry for exporting agro processing, plastic goods and light engineering sectors.
Though this group secured five export trophies in 2016-17 and 2017-18, each, this time they broke its own record and got the highest six trophies.

Moreover, the concerned Commerce Ministry awarded export trophy to the Group as the highest exporter for the last 18 consecutive years.
Minister for Commerce Tipu Munshi awarded the trophies among the winning organisations at a function at Bangabandhu Bangladesh-China Friendship Exhibition Center in Purbachal on Tuesday, as chief guest.
Ahsan Khan Chowdhury, chairman and CEO of PRAN-RFL Group, received the award on behalf of PRAN Dairy while Uzma Chowdhury, director (corporate finance) at the group and Eleash Mridha, managing director of PRAN Group received the award on behalf of PRAN Agro and PRAN Foods respectively.
Therefore, RN Paul, managing director of RFL group received the award on behalf of Rangpur Metal and Toukirul Islam, executive director of Durable Plastic and Mohammad Kazi Abdul Quiyum, executive director of Banga Plastic International received the award on behalf their organizations.
PRAN-RFL Group, the country’s leading food manufacturer and exporter, started exporting its products to France in 1997. At present, the group is exporting it wide range of products to 145 countries in the globe.

Pran-RFL chairman scores Bangladesh C-Suite award
Ahsan Khan Chowdhury, chairman and chief executive officer (CEO) of Pran-RFL Group, has been honoured with the " Entrepreneur of the Year" award for his contribution to the corporate sector. Pran-RFL scoops up Bangladesh Business Awards 2021
Pran-RFL Group has received the Bangladesh Business Awards 2021 for its contribution to the business sector.
Planning Minister MA Mannan handed over the award to Pran-RFL Chair and Chief Executive Officer Ahsan Khan Chowdhury at a Dhaka hotel Friday.

RFL launches three kitchen sinks
RFL Group has launched three new models of kitchen sink named Popular, Premium and Luxury.
Md Moniruzzaman, Director at Rangpur Metal Industries Ltd (RMIL), a sister concern of RFL, has launched the products through a programme held at the head office of RFL in the capital’s Badda on Saturday.
The new products are made of high quality stainless steel. Whisper technology has been used in these kitchen sink for the first time in Bangladesh so that there should be no noise during use, said a media release.

The prices of products are between Tk 1,400 and Tk 4,200 and these sinks are available all over the country through authorized dealers, RFL exclusive point and Best Buy.
In addition, the products can be ordered through the popular e-commerce sitewww.othoba.com and rfleshop.com, it added.
“RFL kitchen sink has received a good response from the customers due to the quality of the products and designs. We always try to produce new products in our factory considering the customer’s demand. I hope, the consumers will get their desired products at reasonable price,” said Moniruzzaman.

PRAN-RFL targets $2 billion export by 2030
PRAN-RFL Group a leading business conglomerate of the country, has targeted to export products worth $1 billion by 2025 and $2 billion by 2030.
Ahsan Khan Chowdhury, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the group, made the announcement at a press briefing event titled “25 years of PRAN-RFL export: Taking Bangladesh to the world” at a hotel in the capital on Sunday.

To achieve the aim Pran-RFL wants to export all the products it manufactures. PRAN-RFL exported worth $532 million in 2021-22 fiscal year.
Mentioning that the country’s export sector has done well despite the global crisis due to corona and Russia-Ukraine war, Ahsan Khan Chowdhury, said, "We had a chance to do better but we have not been able to fully attain that opportunity due to various reasons including non-availability of liner service on particular routes, abnormal increase in freight cost rate and not having enough containers”.

Pran-RFL opens Amjad Khan Chowdhury Nursing College
Business conglomerate Pran-RFL Group has opened a nursing college in Natore, Amjad Khan Chowdhury Nursing College.
Uzma Chowdhury, chairman of the nursing college and director (corporate finance) at Pran-RFL, inaugurated the college Monday.
She said: "Nursing is a very noble profession across the globe. It can play an important role if the students can get standard education through nursing colleges. We have launched the nursing college to contribute to the health sector of Rajshahi and Natore."
"We hope the students serve the nation after acquiring the proper knowledge from our nursing college. We have some hospitals in different locations, including Natore, Narsingdi and Habiganj, and they will get jobs there."

Prince Roy, principal of the nursing college, said: "We have started with courses on BSc in nursing, diploma in nursing science and midwifery and diploma in midwifery."

Islami Bank signs agreement with Pran-RFL
Islami Bank Bangladesh Limited (IBBL) has signed an agreement with Pran-RFL Group to provide point of sale (POS) service to its cardholders.
Under the memorandum of understanding (MoU), clients will be able to buy products from Pran-RFL outlets using IBBL POS machines.

JQM Habibullah, deputy managing director of IBBL, and Uzma Chowdhury, finance director of Pran-RFL, signed the agreement.

Pran-RFL launches food delivery service Foodano
Pran-RFL Group Sunday launched its food delivery service Foodano.
Kamruzzaman Kamal, director (marketing) at PRAN-RFL, and Choudhury Atiur Rasul, director (accounts), inaugurated the service in the capital.

"We have launched Foodano considering the demand of customers, helping them have their favourite food in the shortest possible time," Kamruzzaman said.
Nur Muhammad Rasel, head of business at Foodano, said: "We are going to start our service with food and grocery items."

Pran-RFL bags 5 national export trophies
Pran-RFL Group has bagged national export trophies for the 17th consecutive year in recognition of its role in raising shipment in the agro-processing, plastic goods and light engineering products categories.
Five companies of the group won awards for the fiscal year 2017-18.
Pran Dairy, Pran Agro, and Habiganj Agro obtained the gold, silver and bronze trophies in the agro-processing category.

Pran started exporting agro-based products in 1997, and now, the group ships a wide range of products to 145 countries.
