NCL: Dhaka Division clinch title with one match to spare beating Sylhet Div by 52 runs in Chattogram
Dhaka Division clinched the four-day Tier-1 National Cricket League (NCL) title with one match to spare beating Sylhet Division by 52 runs on the 4th and final day of the 5th round at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram on Sunday.
Dhaka Division, which earned nine points from five matches with four wins and one draw to assure the first class league crown, will play their remaining match with Dhaka Metro scheduled for November 16-19 in Cox's Bazar.

This is the 7th national crown for Saif Hasan-led Dhaka Division after losing the title to Rangpur Division in the last season.
Dhaka Division scored 266 runs in the first innings featuring a century by Mahidul Islam and were all out for 154 runs in the 2nd innings.

Sylhet Division, having 211 runs in the first innings, resumed the 2nd innings Sunday morning with overnight total 39 for 4, eyeing on a winning target of 210 runs on the final day, but were all out for 157 runs in 71.2 overs to concede the defeat.
Later, Mahidul Islam, who scored his maiden century in first class cricket, was adjudged the player of the match.

The day's other Tier-1 NCL match between Rangpur Division and Dhaka Metro ended in a draw on the 4th and final day at the Sheikh Abu Naser Stadium in Khulna on Sunday.

NCL: Dhaka Metro move to tier one, Chattogram relegated to tier two
Dhaka Metro beat Barishal Division in the sixth round of the National Cricket League, the biggest first-class cricket event in the country, to become the champions of tier two and to move to tier one.
Chattogram Division beat Dhaka Division in their last match of tier one but was relegated to tier two as they ended the league as the No. 4 team of tier one.
In the next season of the league, Chattogram will play in tier two and Dhaka Metro in tier one.
Earlier, Rangpur Division beat Sylhet in Bogura to win this year's NCL title. It was the second NCL title for them. They last won an NCL title in the 2014-2015 season.

While Rangpur became the champions with 38 points from four wins in six matches, Sylhet became the runners-up with 21 points from two wins and two draws. Dhaka Division ended the league with 19 points and earned the third position in tier one.
Dhaka Metro earned 38 points in tier two and marched to tier one. Rajshahi Division and Khulna Division ended the league as second and third in tier two with 22 and 20 points. Barishal ended the league with only 19 points.
Zakir Hasan of Sylhet Division became the top run scorer of this year's NCL with 442 runs under his belt. Jahurul Islam (395) of Rajshahi, Tawfiq Khan (389) of Sylhet, Salman Hossain (389) of Barishal and Abdul Mazid (363) of Dhaka Division were right behind Zakir in the standings.
Sumon Khan of Dhaka Division topped the list of bowlers with 33 wickets to his name. He also had two five-fors in this league.
Rahid Rana of Rajshahi Division was only the other bowler who scalped 30 or more wickets this year. He had 32 wickets with three five-fors.

Nabil Samad of Dhaka Division and Hasan Murad of Chattogram bagged 28 wickets each. Nabil had three five-fors, and Hasan recorded four five-fors – the highest this year.
Salauddin Shakil of Dhaka Division was the fifth-best bowler of this year's NCL with 27 wickets.

Rangpur hammer Sylhet by five wickets to lift second NCL title
Rangpur Division beat Sylhet Division by five wickets in the sixth round of the National Cricket League in Bogura to clinched the title of the 24th edition of the event.
It was the second NCL title for Rangpur. They last won the title seven years ago in the 2014-2015 season. Rangpur ended their previous four editions of the league as runners-up.
Rangpur just needed to score 89 runs to beat Sylhet in the sixth round of the event and clinch the title. They did it in the first session of the day.
The sixth-round match was a great chance for Sylhet to win their first title while a draw was fine for Rangpur.
In the first round of the league, Rangpur suffered a big defeat to Dhaka Division. But in the next five rounds, they registered four wins and ended a match with a draw.
Pace-bowling duo Mushfik Hasan and Robiul Haque were the main architects of Rangpur's success in this year's NCL. They bagged 25 and 17 wickets each. Abdullah Al Mamun also did well for them. The 18-year-old all-rounder scored 326 runs with a double-century and bagged 11 wickets.

Chasing a target of 89 runs, Rangpur lost four wickets before even posting 50 runs on the board. Sylhet pacer Tanzim Hasan Sakib bagged three wickets. But Mim Mosaddek stood firm like a rock in the middle for Rangpur and scored 29 to seal the victory for his team.
The other sixth-round match of NCL tier one between Chattogram and Dhaka Division is still underway. Dhaka need 87 runs to win the match with five wickets in hand.
In tier two, Khulna beat Rajshahi by nine wickets. The other tier two match between Barishal and Dhaka Metro is still underway and Dhaka Metro need 36 to win the match with seven wickets in hand.

Chattogram, Sylhet lead in 6th round of NCL matches
Chattogram and Sylhet Divisions are leading against Dhaka and Rangpur Divisions in the sixth round of tier one of the National Cricket League.
After day two of the ongoing round, Chattogram are leading by 192 runs with seven wickets in hand in their second innings. Mahmudul Hasan Joy and Parvez Hossain Emon hit a fifty for them. At the end of the day in BKSP, Chattogram scored 187 for three on top of their first innings total of 203 for all wickets.
In reply to their first innings, Dhaka scored 198 for all wickets with Abdul Mazid and Sumon Khan hitting a fifty each. For Chattogram, Yeasin Arafat Meshu bagged six wickets.
Sylhet are leading by 87 runs against Rangpur at Shahid Chandu Stadium in Bogura. They were bowled out for 168 at the end of day two. They scored 107 in the first innings. Rangpur, who scored 188 in their first innings, will start their second innings on day three.

In tier two, Rajshahi are trailing by 10 runs after suffering a follow-on in reply to Khulna’s first innings of 266 runs at Sheikh Abu Naser Stadium in Khulna. Rajshahi were bowled out for 54 in their first innings and in the second, at the end of day two, they scored 202 for five wickets.
In Sylhet, Barishal are leading by 92 runs against Dhaka Metro. Barishal scored 211 in the first innings. In reply, Dhaka posted 222 runs. And in their second innings, Barishal scored 103 for two at the end of day two.
Rangpur are leading the points table of tier two with three wins in five matches. And Sylhet are right behind them with two wins in five matches. With three wins in five matches, Dhaka Metro are leading the points table in tier two. Rajshahi are behind them with two wins in five matches.

Dhaka Division win National Cricket League 2021
Dhaka Division lifted their first National Cricket League (NCL) title after seven years Wednesday after beating Khulna Division by 179 runs in the sixth round of the NCL 2021 at the Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protishtan (BKSP).
Khulna needed to score 379 runs to beat Dhaka, but they were bundled out for 199 runs in the last innings of the match. Dhaka won the match by 179 runs.
Taibur Rahman, captain of Dhaka, bagged five wickets in the last innings, conceding 40 runs. In the first innings of Khulna, Dhaka's right-arm spinner Shuvagata Hom grabbed seven wickets.
With three wins in six matches, two draws and one defeat, champion Dhaka earned 35.29 points. Runners-up Rangpur secured 31.74 points.
Fazle Mahmud of Barisal scored the most runs, 603, in this season of NCL with a century and five fifties. Amite Hasan, 590, of Sylhet and Abdul Mazid, 521, of Dhaka were other batters to score more than 500 runs. Amite hit two centuries and Mazid one.
Hasan Murad of Chattogram was the best performer with the ball in this season of the NCL. The left-arm spinner picked up 33 wickets with two five-wicket hauls. Three other spinners – Nayeem Hasan of Chattogram and Nazmul Islam of Dhaka, and Sunzamul Islam of Rajshahi – bagged 32 wickets each.
All of the top-five bowlers of this season's NCL were spinners, with Mehidy Hasan Miraz of Khulna being the number five, taking 28 wickets.
There was only one pacer who made it to the list of top 10 bowlers in this NCL – Al-Amin Hossain of Khulna, who bagged 20 wickets.

National Cricket: Chattogram thrashes Barisal by an innings defeat
Chattogram Division earned a comfortable innings and 73-run victory against Barishal Division in the four-day National Cricket League (NCL) that concluded on the 3rd day at the BKSP ground -3 in Savar on Tuesday.
Replying to Barishal Division first innings total 236 runs, Chattogram Division resumed the first innings with overnight total 364 for 4 featuring a century by Mahmudul Hasan Joy and piled up a huge total of 443 runs for all in 126.1 overs.
Apart from Mahmudul Hasan Joy’s polished 121 runs and captain Mominul Haque’s 81 runs on Monday, two night watch batters Shahadat Hossain (63) scored 75 runs off 150 balls hitting seven fours and one six while Irfan Sukkur (23) added 31 runs off 94 balls with three boundaries.

Monir Hossain claimed four wickets for 129 runs, Sohag Gazi and Ruyel Miah took two wickets each conceding 93 and 112 runs respectively.
In reply, Barisal Division opened the 2nd innings and were bundled out for 134 runs in 35 overs to suffer an innings defeat on the 3rd day of the four-day affairs.
National coloured Shohag Gazi (25), captain Mosaddek Hossain (24) and Fazle Mahmud (21) were the notable scorers for Barishal in the 2nd innings.
Nayeem Hasan bowled most economically to grab four wickets for 10 runs in his five-over spell, Mehedi Hasan claimed three wickets for 21 runs while Mehedi Hasan Rana took two for 44 runs.
Later, Mahmudual Hasan Joy, who made century for Chattogram Division, was adjudged player of the match.
In the day’s other league matches, Dhaka Division (123, 234/8) were leading by 92 runs against hosts Sylhet Division (265) and Rajshahi Division (232 and 241/4) were leading 75 runs against Dhaka Metro (398) on the 3rd day of the league.

NCL: Joy guides Chattagram to big lead over Barishal
A brilliant century by one down Mahmudul Hasan Joy guided Chattogram Division to take a 128 runs lead over Barishal Division on the 2nd day of the four-day National Cricket League at the BKSP ground in Savar on Monday. Replying to Barisal Division’s first innings total 236 runs, Chattogram Division resumed the first innings Monday morning with overnight score 34 for no loss and scored 364 runs for 4 in 99 overs when the bails were drawn for the 2nd day. After the departure of two openers for 120 runs, one down Mahmudul Hasan Joy pairing with captain Mominul Haque contributed 112 runs in the 3rd wicket stand to carry the team total to 232 runs.

Mahmudul Hasan Joy hammered a polished 121 runs off 211 balls featuring nine fours and a six while two down Mominul Haque scored 85-ball 81 runs with the help of eleven boundaries. Besides, Shahadat Hossain (63), Jashimuddin (49), Irfan Sukkur (23) and Pinak Ghosh (20) were the other main contributors for Chattogram Division. Monir Hossain grabbed two wickets for 101 runs while Ruyel Mia and Moin Khan took one wicket each conceding 19 and 43 runs respectively. In the day’s other match at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium, Dhaka Division were trailing by 120 runs against hosts Sylhet Division on the 2nd day of the four-day league on Monday Replying to Dhaka Division first inning total 123 runs, Sylhet Division resumed the first innings with overnight total 79 for 2 and were all out for 265 runs featuring three half centuries by opener Sayem Alam (78), captain Zakir Hossain (67) and wicket keeper cum batter Jaker Ali (67). Nazmul Islam made the major damage in Sylhet innings snatching five wickets for 72 runs while Taibur Rahman grabbed three wickets for 40 runs.

NCL: Dhaka Metro trail by 326 against Ctg Division after day 2
Dhaka Metropolis team were trailing by 326 runs against Chattogram Division on the 2nd day of the four-day National Cricket League at the BKSP ground-3 in Savar on Monday.
Chattogram Division resumed their first innings Monday morning with overnight total 316 for 4 featuring two brilliant centuries by Test captain Mominul Haque and Mahmudul Hasan Joy and declared the innings for 445 for 9 in 134.1 overs.

Nightwatchman Yasir Ali, resuming his knock on 1, scored a 39-ball 24 hitting two boundaries. Another overnight batter Nayeem Hasan (10) contributed 18 runs off 58 balls, also with two fours, Mehedi Hasan Rana hit an 81-ball 39 featuring four fours and a six while Mehedi Hasan made 20-ball 25 runs with two fours.
Shohidul Islam grabbed three wickets for 66 runs, Abu Hider also claimed three wickets for 82 runs while Sharifullah bagged two for 106 runs.
Replying to Chattagram Division mammoth total, Dhaka Metro team opened the first innings Monday afternoon and scored 119 for 4 in 25 overs when the bails were drawn for the 2nd day to trail by 326 runs.
National-capped opener Shadman Islam was batting on 68 runs off 98 balls featuring seven hits to the fence and one over the fence while Shamsur Rahman made 52-ball 32 runs with four boundaries.
Mehedi Hasan Rana captured two wickets for35 runs.
Dhaka Metro batter Al Amin Junior rushed to the hospital during the match with head injury when a bouncer of Mehedi Hasan Rana hit his hamlet.
In the day’s other match, Rajshahi Division were trailing by 177 runs against Barishal Division on the 2nd day of the league at the Sheikh Kamal International Cricket Stadium in Cox’s Bazar on Monday.
Barishal Division resumed the first innings Monday morning with overnight score 360 for 7 featuring a century by Shohag Gazi (113) and were all out for 404 in 102.3 overs.
Night watchman Shamsul Islam, who was on batting with 56 runs, contributed 84 runs off 148 balls hitting eight fours and two sixes while another overnight batter Monir Hossain scored 13 runs.
National coloured spinner Taijul Islam claimed four wickets for 125 runs, Nahid Rana, Asaduzzaman and Sunzamul Islam took two wickets each conceding 47, 96 and 120 runs respectively.
In reply, Rajshahi Division opened the first inning and scored 227 for 4 in 75 overs at the end of the 2nd day (Monday) and were trailing by 177 runs.

National-capped batter Nazmul Hossain Shanto hits the team highest 68 runs playing 114 balls featuring seven boundaries, Towhid Rana scored 50 runs off 88 balls with three fours, Tanzid Hasan made 57-ball 42 runs hitting four fours and a six while Farhad Hossain was on batting with 26 nuns.
Monir Hossain captured two wickets for 52 runs.
At the Academy ground of Sylhet International Cricket Stadium Dhaka Division were trailing by 333 runs against Khulna Division on the 2nd day (Monday).
Replying to Khulna Division first innings collection 419 runs, Dhaka Division scored 86 for no loss in 36 overs at the end of the 2nd day.
In the day’s other match, hosts Sylhet Division were struggling against Rangpur Division at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium on the 2nd day.

NCL: Mominul, Mahmudul tons guide Ctg Div to 316/4 over Dhaka Metro
Two brilliant centuries by Bangladesh Test captain Mominul Haque and Mahmudul Hasan Joy guided Chattogram Division to score 216 runs for 4 in 80 overs in the first innings against Dhaka Metro team on the first day of the four-day National Cricket League at BKSP ground-3 in Savar on Sunday.
After the departure of two openers—Parvez Hossain Emon (44) and Pinak Ghosh (43) – for 95 runs in 33 overs, one down Mahmudul Hasan Joy pairing with captain Mominul Haque contributed 208 runs in the 3rd wicket partnership.

NCL: Sylhet beat Khulna by 4 wkts
Hosts Sylhet Division earned a four-wicket victory over Khulna Division in a Tier-1 match of the four-day National Cricket League (NCL) on the final day at the Academy ground of Sylhet International Cricket Stadium on Wednesday.
Earlier, Barishal Division earned a creditable 78 runs victory over Chattogram Division on the 3rd day of the four-day League concluded on Tuesday at the Sheikh Kamal International Cricket Stadium in Cox’s Bazar.
On the 4th and final day (Wednesday), chasing a target of 203 runs, hosts Sylhet Division resumed the 2nd innings with overnight total 112 for 3 and reached their ultimate goal scoring 205 for 6 in 84.4 overs after making 172 runs in the first innings.
Wicketkeeper Jaker Ali, who was not out on 9 overnight, scored a patient 41 runs off 108 balls featuring four boundaries while another nightwatchman and captain Zakir Hasan (17) contributed 37 runs off 106 balls, hitting three fours.
Amite Hasan (41), Asadullah Galim (20), Alok Kapali (20), Tanzim Hassan Shakib (18) and Shahnur Rahman (15) were the other main scorers for Sylhet.

Seamer Al Amin Hossain and Mehidy Hasan Miraz grabbed two wickets each conceding 44 and 76 runs respectively.
Earlier, Khulna Division scored 196 and 178 runs in two innings.
Rejaur Rahman Raja of Sylhet Division, who grabbed eight wickets in two innings and scored 39 runs in the first innings, named the man of the match.
The other Tier-1 league match between Dhaka Division and Rangpur Division ended in a draw on the 4th and final day at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium on Wednesday.
Dhaka Division, with first innings total 394 runs, resumed the 2nd innings Wednesday morning with overnight score 38 for no loss and declared the innings at 203 for 9 in 67 overs, featuring a half century (51) by Shovagata Hom.
Besides, Rony Talukder (43), Raqibul Hasan (40), Taibur Rahman (28), Abdul Mazid (27) were notable contributors for Dhaka.
Mukidul Islam claimed three wickets for 38 runs while Ariful Haque took two for 35.
Chasing a target of 277 runs, Rangpur Division (321 runs in the first innings), opened the 2nd innings and scored 75 for 3 in 30 overs when the bails were drawn for the 4th and final day (Wednesday).

Nazmul Islam bagged all the three wickets for 29 runs.
Opening batter Abdul Mazid of Dhaka Division, who scored 110 runs in the first innings and 27 runs in the 2nd innings, was adjudged man of the match.
The other league match between Rajshahi Division and Dhaka Metro also ended in a draw at the Sheikh Kamal International Stadium in Cox’s Bazar on the 4th and final day (Wednesday).
Rajshahi Division scored 252 /10 in the first innings and made 184 for 4 in the 2nd innings, replying to Dhaka Metro’s 339 runs
Sharifullah of Dhaka Metro was adjudged the man of the match for his seven wickets in two innings in addition to scoring 59 runs.
