Fardin murder: Bushra walks out of jail after 2 months
Amatullah Bushra, a 3rd year student of East West University, was freed from jail on Tuesday after two months of her arrest in a case filed over the death of Buet student Fardin Noor Parash.
She walked out of Kashimpur Women’s Central Jail, Gazipur around 2 pm, said Jailer Farhana Akter.

Earlier, on January 8, Judge Tahsin Iftekhar of Additional Metropolitan Sessions Judge's Court-7 granted bail to Bushra in the case after hearing a bail petition.
Bushra was in jail for around two months in the case, despite investigation agencies failing to find any evidence connecting her to her friend's death.
On December 15 last year, additional commissioner (Detective Branch) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Mohammad Harunur Rashid said they would give a report to the court that Bushra has no connection with the death of Fardin.
Bushra was arrested from her Banasree home in Dhaka on November 10, 2022, after Fardin’s father filed a murder case naming Bushra as an accused and several unidentified people with Rampura Police Station following recovery of his son’s body the Shitalakhkhya River on November 7.
After a long 38-day investigation, the DB chief said on December 14 that Fardin roamed alone in different areas of Dhaka before he went missing.
“Fardin was not murdered, he committed suicide by jumping into the river from Sultana Kamal Bridge On November 4 out of desperation,” he said.
Fardin was a 3rd year student of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology’s civil engineering department and a resident of Qutubpur area in Narayanganj's Fatullah.

Police recovered Fardin’s body from the Shitalakhkhya River, behind a cotton mill at Siddhirganj, on November 7, three days after he went missing.
Sheikh Farhad, a physician at Narayanganj General Hospital where the autopsy was done, said there were several injury marks on Fardin’s head and body.
Kazi Nuruddin Rana, Fardin’s father, filed a case in connection with his son’s killing with Rampura Police Station on the same day and the case was later transferred to Detective Branch (DB) Police.

Fardin's death: Bushra finally granted bail
A Dhaka court today (January 08, 2023) granted bail to Amatullah Bushra, a 3rd year student of East West University, in the case over the death of her friend, Buet student Fardin Noor Parash.
Judge Tahsin Iftekhar of Additional Metropolitan Sessions Judge's Court-7 passed the order after hearing the bail petition.
Earlier on January 5, the court set today's date for passing its order on the bail petition.
Bushra has been languishing in jail for almost two months in the case, despite investigation agencies failing to find any evidence connecting her to her friend's death.

Fardin Noor: Home Minister puts faith in RAB, DB investigation
Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan on Friday said that the Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) and Detective Branch (DB) of police must have revealed the reason behind the death of Buet student Fardin Noor Parash after proper analysis.
He said this in a response to reporters after paying homage at the Martyrs' Memorial of Rajarbagh Police Line in the capital marking of the Victory Day.
Regarding DB’s report revealing Fardin’s death by suicide, the minister said, “Rab and DB police are working on this case. They can say it well.”

After a long 38-day investigation, on December 14, Additional Commissioner (Detective Branch) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Mohammad Harunur Rashid claimed that Fardin died by suicide after scrutinizing the footages regarding Fardin’s movement before his death.
Then he went to Sultana Kamal Bridge around 2:34 am on November 4. He was alone on the bridge till 2:37am, he said.
“He didn’t know swimming and we believe that Fardin committed suicide by jumping off Sultana Kamal Bridge,” he said.
However, Fardin’s father Kazi Nuruddin said that his son did not kill himself, he was murdered.
Meanwhile, DB police will give a report to the court that Amatullah Bushra, a 3rd year student of East West University who is now in jail, has no connection with Fardin’s death, said DB chief on Thursday.

Fardin didn’t commit suicide, he was murdered, claims father
Fardin Noor Parash did not kill himself, he was murdered, claimed his father on Kazi Nuruddin.
“After the planned murder, now the drama of suicide is being staged,” he told reporters at the Dhaka Metropolitan Police's (DMP) media center on Minto Road of the capital.
Expressing dissatisfaction over the investigation, Nuruddin said, “I will file no-confidence petition.”
“My son had the capability of coping with all kinds of situation. My son can't commit suicide.”

Showing two photographs of Fardin's body, Kazi Nuruddin said, “I saw Fardin's body, there were injury marks on his head.”
Various false information have been spread since the beginning to divert this planned murder, he claimed.
Expressing anger at the Buet administration, Fardin's father questioned whether the Buet VC and administration knew that Fardin had committed suicide. “They did not even console my family.”
“This would not have happened if my son had not been admitted to Buet,” he said.
Meanwhile, 40 students of Buet came to the DB office today (Thursday) to see the progress of DB's investigation.
After talking with the investigating officers for about three hours, the students said they are satisfied with the DB's investigation, said DB chief Harun Or Rashid.

It’s disappointing, no headway in probe in a month, says Fardin’s father
Fardin was murdered in a planned way but the investigating agencies failed to make any progress even after one month, said slain Buet student Fardin Noor Porosh’s father Kazi Nuruddin .
“It was a pre-planned murder, but the probe committee could not identify anyone till now. It is disappointing that the investigating agencies failed to make any progress even after one month,” he said on Tuesday at a human chain on Buet campus.
General students of Buet formed the human chain in front of Buet Shaheed Minar and paraded the campus demanding quick probe into the murder. Family members of Fardin, whose body was recovered from the Shitalakhya River on November 7, joined the human chain.
They criticised the law enforcement agencies for their delay in investigation.

Students and Fardin's father also expressed regret about the role of Buet administration and sought the Prime Minister’s interference in this regard.
Students said they are still in confusion as they have found different types of news regarding this murder and different statements from different law enforcement agencies.
Expressing disappointment, they said it has been one month of Fardin's murder but the mystery of this murder is yet to be debunked and the killers are yet to be identified.
They demanded quick probe and due punishment to the culprits within a short time.

No concrete evidence yet on Buet student Fardin’s murder: Home Minister
Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal on Monday said law enforcement agencies are yet get any tangible evidence to untangle the murder of Fardin Noor Parash, a student of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (Buet).
He was responding to a question from reporters at a programe held to mark the 9th founding anniversary of River Police at Rajarbagh Police Lines in the capital in the evening.
"We have not received any information with concrete proof," the home minister said. “We speak only on facts.”

Police arrested Amatullah Bushra the same day hours after filing the case.
Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has been investigating the case to unearth the motive of the murder and who did it.

Fardin murder case transferred to DB
Buet student Fardin Noor Parash murder case has been transferred to the Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP).
“Now, DB police will investigate the case,” Rafiqul Islam, officer-in-charge of Rampura Police Station, told UNB on Thursday.
Fardin was a 3rd year student of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology’s civil engineering department and a resident of Qutubpur area in Narayanganj's Fatullah.

Buet student Fardin’s last tracked location was in Gazipur: Home Minister
Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan today (November 10, 2022) said, the primary suspicion is that Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) student Fardin Noor Parash was murdered.
“How Fardin’s body ended up in Shitalakhkhya river is being investigated,” he said in a response to questions from reporters at Rajarbagh Police Lines in Dhaka.

He also said Fardin’s last location was tracked in Gazipur. “How his body ended up in the river from Gazipur is being investigated,” the home minister said.
He said investigation is underway, treating it as a murder.
It will be possible to share details after the investigation is complete and report is received, he added.

Those behind Fardin’s death will be brought to justice after identifying them, he said.

'He was murdered': Fardin's father demands justice
Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) student Fardin Noor Parash was murdered, claimed his father Nuruddin Rana on Tuesday, demanding justice for his son.
"I may not get my son back, but I want justice. It is now easy to find out the culprits and killers by tracking his mobile phone location," he said after Fardin’s namaz-e-janaza at Buet Central Mosque this noon.
"My son was very decent and soft hearted. He was very friendly. I do not know the reason why he has been killed in such a brutal way. He was closely involved in extra-curricular activities like debating and social works," he added.

Fardin was a 3rd year student of Buet’s civil engineering department and a resident of Qutubpur area in Narayanganj's Fatullah.
The human chain, under the banner of general students, was formed in front of Buet Shaheed Minar after his namaz-e-janaza. His body was brought to Buet campus after an autopsy this morning.
The students also demanded immediate arrest of those behind Fardin’s death after identifying them.
On November 4, Fardin left for the campus from his home after the Juma prayer as he had a quiz the following day, but he did not attend the quiz.
"When Fardin's friends informed us that he didn’t attend the quiz, we informed the police station and lodged a complaint that day," Nuruddin said.

On Monday, police recovered Fardin's body from the Shitalakhkhya river behind a cotton mill at Siddhirganj, three days after he went missing.
"When he set out for the campus from home, he took his mobile, watch and money bag. But we found nothing of those with the body,” said the father.

Injury marks on head, body of Buet student Fardin: Doctor who conducted autopsy
The body of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) student Fardin Noor Parash bears several injury marks, according to the doctor who conducted the autopsy this morning (November 08, 2022).
“There are several injury marks on Fardin's head and body,” said Sheikh Farhad, a physician at Narayanganj General Hospital where the autopsy was done.
Maniruzzaman Moni, officer-in-charge of Narayanganj River Police, said police have detained two friends of Fardin for interrogation.
They are also trying to find clues to and possible reasons behind Fardin's death, he said.

Meanwhile, Fardin’s father Nuruddin Rana said that the family received a phone call on Monday (November 07, 2022), informing them of Fardin's dead body.
Earlier on Monday, police found Fardin's body from the Shitalakshya river, three days after he went missing.
Fardin was a 3rd-year student of civil engineering department of BUET and a resident of Qutubpur area in Narayanganj's Fatullah, said Maniruzzaman.
On November 4, Fardin left home and did not return. He was also unreachable on phone.

Later, his father lodged a general diary with Rampura Police in this regard.
On Monday afternoon, the dead body was seen floating on the river just behind a cotton mill at Siddhirganj.
On information, police rushed to the spot and recovered the body, added the OC.
