Chuadanga Sadar UNO’s security guard found dead in washroom
The body of an Ansar member was recovered from a washroom in a barrack stationed in Chuadanga Sadar Upazila Parishad on Thursday night, said police.
The deceased Jamal Uddin, 55, was posted as a security guard of Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Fatema-Tuj-Zohora and a resident of Palty union under Kumarkhali upazila of Kushtia.

Jalmal’s co-worker Saidur Rahman said they along with Jamal were on duty but suddenly he went missing for a long time.
After searching, his unconscious body was found lying inside the washroom of the barrack, he said, adding that he was rushed to Chuadanga Sadar Hospital's emergency department where physicians declared him dead.

Dr Afrina Islam, a physician of the hospital, said Jamal had died before arrival and he might have suffered from a stroke.
Sheikh Sekendar Ali, Officer-in-Charge of Chuadanga Sadar Police Station, said the reason behind the death will be known after getting the autopsy report.

BIWTC engineer found dead at Dhaka hotel
An executive engineer of the Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BIWTC) was found dead at a hotel in the capital's Nayapaltan area early Wednesday.
The deceased was identified as Md Abbas Uddin, 50. He was the executive engineer of the BIWTC's Chattogram Sadarghat and a resident of Cumilla's Muradnagar upazila.

Autorickshaw driver found dead in Gazipur forest
Police recovered the body of a 25-year-old autorickshaw driver from a forest in Sreepur upazila of Gazipur district early Sunday.
The deceased was identified as Md Hridoy, son of late Sujon Miah in Hatikhola village under Gafargaon upazila of Mymensingh. He used to live at a rented house in Bagmara village under Sreepur municipality.

Police recovered the bodies of a 40-year-old woman and her two children, with their hands tied up with a scarp, from Tirnoi River in Kashipur Kashidanga of Ranisankail upazila in Thakurgaon district on Wednesday,18 hours after they went missing.

‘Drug peddler’ found dead along riverbank in Magura
Police on Monday recovered the body of a suspected drug peddler from the bank of the Kumar River at Nijnanduali village, on the outskirts of Magura town.
The deceased, Bably Molla, was a resident of the Barunatail area of Magura town.
Locals spotted the body and informed police.

Man's throat-slit body found in Gaibandha
Police recovered the throat-slit body of a man from Sadullapur upazila of Gaibandha district on Saturday morning.
The deceased was identified as Surat Ali, of Puran Lakshipur village in the upazila.
Family members said Surat went to a local market on Friday evening but did not return at night.
On Saturday morning, locals spotted his body lying under the Collegepara Ghaghat Bridge and informed police.

Woman found dead inside Sylhet hotel room: Police
A 19-year-old woman was found dead in a Dakshin Surma residential hotel room Wednesday, police said.
However, hotel manager Jahir Miah, the former husband of the 19-year-old, went into hiding after the incident.
The deceased was identified as Nilima Begum Lily from Sylhet's Osmaninagar upazila.
Md Kamrul Hasan Talukdar, officer-in-charge (OC) of Dakshin Surma Police Station, said the two kept in touch despite their separation.
"We recovered the body from the first floor of 'Shapla Residential Hotel,' ramming the door of room No. 105 open after getting information from the hotel staff around 10.45am," he said.
The body was sent to Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical Hospital for post-mortem, Kamrul said, adding that the body bore no injury marks.
"Police are looking for Jahir. The cause of Lily's death can be confirmed after investigation," the OC said.

2 Ansar members found dead inside Agrani Bank in Narsingdi
Two security guards (Ansar members) were found dead inside Radhganj Bazar branch of Agrani Bank in Raipura upazila of Narsingdi on Wednesday morning.
The deceased were identified as Tauhidul Alam, 24, of Faridpur, and Ranju Mia, 40, of Tangail.
The bank authorities informed police after getting no response from the guards this morning.

Later, police recovered the bodies after breaking the gate of the bank around 11:30 am, said Azizul Islam, officer-in-charge (OC) of Raipura police station.
“The details can be informed after an investigation,” said the OC.

Unidentified man found dead in Dinajpur
Police recovered the body of a 55-year old man from a paddy field in Sheikhpura area of Dinajpur Sadar upazila Tuesday morning.
The identity of the deceased could not be ascertained yet.
Golam Mawla Shah, inspector of Kotwali Police Station, said they recovered the body from the paddy field adjacent to the road of Sheikhpura Union Parishad building after being informed by village police.

The body was sent to M Abdur Rahim Medical College morgue for an autopsy, he added.
Mominul Islam, chairman of the local union parishad, said that locals saw the man roaming around the area on Monday. He might have been suffering from mental illness, added the chairman.

Teen girl found dead on Kushtia rail tracks
Police recovered the body of a teenage girl from a rail track in Kumarkhali upazila of Kushtia on Saturday night, police said.
The identity of the deceased could not be known immediately.
Locals informed police after finding the body lying on the CMB rail gate area of Kumarkhali on the Kushtia-Rajbari railway line, Md Mohsin Hossain, officer-in-charge (OC) of Kumarkhali Police Station, said.
On information, police rushed to the spot and recovered the body.

As the accident occurred on the railway line, legal action will be taken by the railway police, added the OC.
Ashiq, a resident of the local area, said “We suspect the teen was run over by the Rajbari-bound Tungipara Express train as it left Kushtia just before the body was found."
