Weather forecast: Light to moderate rain likely in Dhaka, other divisions over 24 hours
Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has predicted light to moderate rain or thundershowers in eight divisions, including Dhaka, over 24 hours (starting from 9 am today).
“Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind are likely to occur at a few places in Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions and at one or two places in Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh and Dhaka divisions with moderately heavy falls at places aross the country,” said a regular BMD bulletin on Saturday.

Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has predicted rain or thundershowers in Dhaka and seven other divisions as the monsoon is fairly active over the country and moderate over north Bay.
“Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind are likely to occur at many places in Rangpur, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions; at a few places in Dhaka and Chattogram divisions; and at one or two places in Rajshahi, Khulna and Barishal divisions with moderately heavy to heavy falls at places over the country,” it said.
A mild heatwave is sweeping over Khulna division and the districts of Gopalgonj, Rajshahi, and Pabna, and it may continue.

Day temperatures may rise slightly in Dhaka, Rajshahi, Khulna, Barisahal and Chattogram divisions and remain nearly unchanged elsewhere over the country. The nighttime temperature may remain nearly unchanged across the country.

Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) on Saturday predicted rain or thundershowers in eight divisions including Dhaka as a low pressure formed in the Bay of Bengal.
“Rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty or squally wind are likely to occur at many places over Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions; at a few places over Dhaka, Mymensingh and Khulna divisions; and at one or two places over Rajshahi and Rangpur divisions with moderately heavy to heavy falls at places over Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions,” said a regular bulletin of the Met office.
A mild heatwave is sweeping over the districts of Rajshahi, Pabna and Chuadanga and it may abate.

Day and Night temperatures may remain nearly unchanged over the country.
Besides, a low-pressure area has formed over the northeast Bay and adjoining area and intensified into a well-marked low over the same area.

Under its influence, deep convection is continuing over the north Bay. South-west monsoon has advanced up to Chattogram and Sylhet divisions.

Rain likely in 6 divisions
The Met Office has forecast rain for some areas in six divisions.
In a regular bulletin, it said rain or thundershowers is likely to hit one or two places over Dhaka, Mymensingh, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions during 24 hours commencing from 6pm Sunday.
The Met Office said the weather may remain mainly dry with partly cloudy sky elsewhere over the country.
Meanwhile, it forecast continuation of the mild heat wave sweeping over the regions of Dhaka, Tangail, Faridpur, Rajshahi, Pabna, Jashore, Chudanga and Kumarkhali.
Sunday’s highest temperature was recorded at 37.5 degree Celsius in Chuadanga and Kumarkhali and the lowest 14.4C in Tetulia.
