Coronavirus: Bangladesh sees 2,695 new cases, 37 deaths
Bangladesh recorded another spike in coronavirus cases on Wednesday when the health authorities announced detection of 2,695 new patients in the last 24 hours.
“During this period, 37 patients died, raising the death toll to 746,” Prof Dr Nasima Sultana, Additional Director General of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), told a regular online briefing.
“The mortality rate is 1.35 percent in country,” she said.

Coronavirus: Global death toll tops 82,000
The global death toll from coronavirus has reached 82,074 as of Wednesday morning.
There have been 1,431,689 confirmed cases around the world after the highly contagious disease was first reported in China in December last, according to worldometer.
Of those infected, 1,047, 470 are currently being treated with 47,891 being in serious or critical condition.
