Coronavirus patient flees from Jashore hospital
A pregnant woman diagnosed with coronavirus on Saturday fled from the Chougachha Health Complex.
The 28-year-old is a resident of Banurhuda village in the upazila.
Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Dr Lutfurnnahar said the woman got admitted to the health complex with cough, fever, and sore throat on Thursday.
They took the samples of three people, including the woman, and sent to Genome Centre of Jashore University of Science and Technology for coronavirus test. Of them, the woman was found infected.
Following the test result, the local administration put the entire upazila under lockdown, the official added.
On Wednesday, two people tested positive for coronavirus in the upazila.

Coronavirus patient flees Sylhet hospital
A coronavirus patient who was undergoing treatment at Osmani Medical College Hospital fled the hospital on Thursday.
Faruk Ahmed, in-charge of Osmani Medical College and Hospital, said a pregnant woman was admitted to the hospital and gave birth to a dead child on April 22.
The woman developed coronavirus symptoms at the hospital and the hospital authorities collected her samples for coronavirus test. They confirmed on Thursday that the patient got infected.
After getting the report, the woman left the hospital secretly.
Meanwhile, the number of coronavirus cases in Sylhet division rose to 49 as 16 more people were diagnosed with the virus on Thursday, said deputy director of Osmani Medical College and Hospital Himangshu Lal Roy.

Coronavirus patient forced to leave home in Laxmipur
A man diagnosed with coronavirus was forced to leave his rented flat after being threatened by his house owner in Ramganj upazila.
The 35-year-old, a factory worker in Cox’s Bazar, returned home in Laxmipur on April 12 and tested positive for coronavirus four days later.
“After my results came, the local administration put the house under lockdown,” he said. “The house owner threatened to burn me alive and forced me to leave.”
The man started for Cumilla but Superintendent of Police Syed Nurul Islam caught up with him at Nangalkot Railway Station. The patient was later sent to the isolation centre in Nangalkot upazila.
Upazila Nirbahi Officer Lamiya Saiful said the patient was sent to Goharua 20-bed Hospital.
Meanwhile, seven more people died from coronavirus in Bangladesh until Sunday, taking the death toll in the country to 91.
Besides, a record number of 312 people tested positive for coronavirus during the period, raising the number of such cases in the country to 2,456.
