Chuadanga: Child dies falling off roof of under-construction building
An 8-year-old minor boy died after falling from the roof of an under-construction building in Sadar upazila of Chuadanga on Saturday afternoon.
The deceased was identified as Ahad Ali, son of Arif Hossain of Doulatdiar village of the upazila.
Family members said Ahad was playing on the roof around 5 pm. Suddenly he slipped and fell on the paved road.

He was rushed to Chuadanga Sadar Hospital where doctors declared him dead on arrival.
Tahsin Sadia, the doctor of the emergency department of Chuadanga Sadar Hospital, said there was bleeding from the nose.

Child dies after hospital authority 'refuses' treatment without money
Members of Rapid Action Battalion arrested the owner of 'Amar Bangladesh Hospital' on Friday over the death of a child in Dhaka's Shyamoli.
The arrestee is Mohammad Golam Sorowar, 57, son of Munshi Ishak Ali Sikder in North Manik Nagod area of Mugda, said a press release.
Earlier the child, who was one of twins, died on the road after 'Amar Bangladesh Hospital' authority forced their mother out of the hospital, refusing treatment at not getting money.

Later, the victim's mother filed a complaint at Mohammadpur Police Station against the owner and director of the hospital.
Based on the complaint, Rab-2, Rab-3 and the detective branch of Rab headquarters ran a drive on Friday and arrested Golam Sorowar from the capital's Mohammadpur.
According to the press release, the twins have been undergoing treatment in the hospital since January 2. But they were kicked out forcefully from the hospital on Thursday afternoon as their mother was unable to pay the due money.
Another child was admitted to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital in critical condition.
The mother of the two children claimed that she was victimized by the brokers of the hospital authority.

During primary interrogation, the arrestee confessed that he has brokers in several public hospitals to bring the patients to his hospital, the release added.
The victim's mother said "I have paid Tk 40 thousand. Unable to pay the rest, I requested them but they did not listen and forced me out with my children."

Child dies hit by bus in Rajshahi
A child on Friday was killed after a passenger bus hit him while he was crossing a road in Rajshahi’s Godagari upazila, police said.
The incident occurred at around 10 am on the Rajshahi-Chapainawabganj highway at Jamdani intersection.
The child was identified as Tawfiq, 5, son of Md. Babu in Charghat area of Bagha upazila.

Witnesses said Tawfiq was going to his grandfather's house in Jamdani village with his mother. His mother was paying the auto rickshaw fare at the Jamdani junction. While the child was crossing the road all by himself, he was hit by a Dhaka-bound Grameen Travels bus from Chapainawabganj and died on the spot.
Godagari Model Police officer-in-charge (OC) Kamrul Islam said the bus was stopped by locals at Baslitala area and later handed over to the police.
The OC said necessary action would be taken if any complaint was received from the child's family.

Child dies of electrocution in capital
A child was electrocuted on Thursday afternoon while playing amid rain in Tejgaon area in the capital.
The deceased was identified as Sajal Islam Alif, 10.

“I went to the roof and saw him lying unconscious and immediately rushed him to a local medical facility first and then to DMCH where doctors declared him dead,” Yasin Hossain, uncle of the child, told UNB.
He said Sajal might have been electrocuted after touching a pipe which somehow was connected with an electric wire.

Bachchu Mia, in-charge of DMCH Police Outpost, said the body has been kept at the morgue of the hospital for autopsy.

Child dies in Keraniganj blast; 11 injured
A child was killed and 11 others were injured in an explosion at the residence of a Jamaat-e-Islami leader at Shubhaddya North Para in Keraniganj early Thursday.
The identity of the five-year-old could not be known immediately.
Shah Zaman, officer-in-charge of South Keraniganj Police Station, said the explosion took place on the third floor of local Jamaat leader Abul Hossain’s house injuring 12 people.
