Junior Scholarship Exam results published; 46,200 students selected
The results of the Junior Scholarship Examination were published on Wednesday, with a total of 46,200 students selected under two categories.
Of them, 14,700 students secured scholarships in the talent pool category while 31,500 were awarded general scholarships.
The results of the examination held after a gap of 17 years were announced at 1:30pm on Wednesday.
Education Minister Dr. ANM Ehsanul Hoque Milon formally announced the results at a function held at the conference room of the Secondary and Higher Education Division of the Education Ministry.
State Minister for Education Bobby Hajjaj was present at the event.
According to the published results, a total of 3,15,160 students participated in the Junior Scholarship Examination under nine general education boards across the country.
Under Dhaka Education Board, 3,635 students received talent pool scholarships and 7,790 received general scholarships while 967 students secured talent pool scholarships and 2,073 received general scholarships under Mymensingh Education Board.
Besides, Rajshahi Education Board awarded 1,926 talent pool and 4,128 general scholarships while Cumilla Education Board awarded 1,677 talent pool and 3,593 general scholarships.
A total of 948 students received talent pool scholarships and 2,030 received general scholarships under Sylhet Education Board and Barishal Education Board awarded 873 talent pool and 1,871 general scholarships.
The Jashore Education Board awarded 1,662 talent pool and 3,561 general scholarships while the Chattogram Education Board awarded 1,210 talent pool and 2,593 general scholarships.
1,802 students secured talent pool scholarships and 3,861 received general scholarships under Dinajpur Education Board.
Results can be accessed through the website of the Directorate of Primary Education by clicking on the ‘Scholarship Result’ option and entering the roll number and year (2026).
Students can also obtain their results via SMS by typing the board name, roll number and year and sending the message to 16222.
Students selected under the talent pool category will receive Tk 450 per month while those under the general category will receive Tk 300 per month.
The scholarships will continue for two years (Classes IX and X) along with a one-time annual grant.
The examinations were held from December 28 to 30 last year and on January 6 this year at 611 centres under nine general education boards across the country.

No JSC, JDC exams from now on
The examinations for Junior School Certificate (JSC) and Junior Dakhil Certificate (JDC) for the 2022 and 2023 sessions have been cancelled, and the two exams will no longer be held as the government of Bangladesh has moved to implement the new curriculum
A press release, signed by Deputy Secretary of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Division Akther Unnisa Shiuly, confirmed this on Monday (January 16, 2023).

“No provision was kept for holding the JSC, JDC or board exams in line with the ‘National Curriculum Outline-2021’, in hence the decision to suspend the exams (JSC, JDC) can be considered,” the release said.
Apart from this, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina approved the decision, it added.

Chief Justice presents annual report on JSC to President Hamid
Chief Justice Hasan Faiz Siddiqui on Tuesday presented the Annual Report of Judicial Service Commission-2021 to President Abdul Hamid at Bangabhaban on Tuesday evening.
President's press secretary Joynal Abedin briefed the reporters after the meeting.
During the meeting, the Chief Justice and the Chairman of the Judicial Service Commission briefed the President about the overall activities of the Commission and various aspects of the annual report.
The President emphasized on timely training in various subjects including information technology to increase the professional skills of the judges.

Hamid also urged the judges to perform their duties with more honesty, devotion and sincerity so that the people get justice quickly.
The member of the commission Justice Nazrul Islam Talukder, Attorney General Abu Mohammad Amin Uddin, Law and Justice Department Secretary Golam Sarwar and District and Sessions Judge Habibur Rahman Bhuiyan were present.
President's Office Secretary Sampad Barua, Military Secretary Major General SM Salah Uddin Islam, Press Secretary Md Zainal Abedin were also present at the time.

No JSC, JDC exams this year, says Edu Minister
The government has decided against holding this year's Junior School Certificate (JSC) and Junior Dakhil Certificate (JDC) examinations, said Education Minister Dipu Moni on Tuesday.
“No JSC, JDC examinations will be held this year and the students will be upgraded to the next class through temporary tests,” she said while speaking at a programme on the 75th birthday of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina held at Dhaka Mohila Polytechnic Institute in city’s Agargaon.
Referring to SSC and HSC examinations, the minister said “We have taken all-out preparation and I hope the examinations will be held in time as per the schedule.”
She advised the students to devote to gaining knowledge instead of running after GPA-5.
