Police on Wednesday arrested a man over his assault of a journalist who was covering a report on sand and stone lifted illegally from the River Jadukata.

A case has been filed on Tuesday over the torture of a journalist who was beaten up after being tied to a tree in Sunamganj’s Tahirpur for photographing illegal sand lifting from the River Jadukata.

Local correspondent of a private television channel was sent to jail in a case filed under Digital Security Act in connection to a post on social media Facebook.
