After 115 days in the intensive care unit (ICU),  Bangladeshi expat Abu Taher  Ismail made recovery from COVID-19 miraculously, reports Gulf news.

The coronavirus recovery rate in Bangladesh jumped to 71.3 percent on Sunday with the recovery of 2,372 patients.

Bangladesh’s coronavirus recovery rate of 65.46 percent is still far behind India (76.6 percent) and Pakistan (94 percent) in the South Asian region. 

Ershad Chakma, the only confirmed coronavirus patient in Khagrachhari, has recovered.   His sample tested negative for the third time and he is now doing well, said Civil Surgeon Nupur Kanti Das on Saturday morning adding that now the district has no confirmed coronavirus case.   Besides, the samples of 14 people who came in contact with him, also tested negative.
