The European Union has committed US$ 25.7 million to support UNICEF’s child protection programme in Bangladesh over the next four years to give over 10 million children access to social services, and empower them to claim their rights. 

Unicef has welcomed the release of the first group of children who are held in detention facilities while awaiting trial in Bangladesh.
