Global coronavirus caseload exceeds 58 mln
The globally confirmed coronavirus cases reached 58,095,887 on Sunday with 1,379,83 deaths, according to data compiled by Johns Hopkins University (JHU).
The US remains the worst-hit country with 12,088,409 cases, including 255,833 fatalities as of Sunday.
Brazil registered 376 new deaths from Covid-19, bringing the national death toll to 168,989, the government said Saturday. The number of infections went up by 32,622, pushing the nationwide tally to 6,052,786.
Neighbouring India's coronavirus tally reached 9,095,806 on Sunday as 45,209 new cases were registered in the past 24 hours, the health ministry said.
The country’s death toll mounted to 133,227 as 501 more patients died since Saturday morning.
India currently has 440,962 active cases, while 8,521,617 patients have been discharged from hospitals.

UNO among nine infected with coronavirus in Keraniganj
Nine people including the Keraniganj upazila Nirbahi Officer have been infected with coronavirus, raising the number of confirmed coronavirus cases to 884 in Keraniganj upazila.
According to Coronavirus control room, UNO Amit Debnath and eight more people tested positive for coronavirus in the upazila.
Three executive magistrates, one project officer, 14 physicians, 17 nurses, 18 health workers, 46 Rab members and 45 policemen are among those infected with the virus here.

The Covid-19 pandemic has claimed over 436,322 lives globally while the number of confirmed cases has gone up to 8,015,053 as of Tuesday morning, according to the Centre for System Science and Engineering of the Johns Hopkins University.
According to JHU data, Brazil and Russia have come up to the second and the third positions after the US with 888,271 and 536,484 confirmed coronavirus cases as of Tuesday.

The UK has the second-highest death toll at 39, 811, followed by Italy with 33,601, France 29,024 and Spain 27,128, according to Johns Hopkins University.
