Kalpana Rani had forcibly been taken to a shelter before cyclone Amphan hit last week. When she returned, she found her house situated in the vicinity of the Sholmarri River completely shattered. 

Super cyclone Amphan battered West Bengal and Bangladesh’s coastal area and badly damaged parts of the Sundarbans, a UNESCO world heritage site.

Eight community radios and two Community Visual Radio stations of coastal areas have continued broadcasting about 160 hours cyclone bulletin due to the emergency situation created over cyclonic strom Amphan.

The Army,  Navy and Air Force, led by the Armed Forces Division (AFD), have made overall preparations to deal with the aftermath of extremely severe cyclonic storm ‘Amphan’.
