Jokowi greets Hasina on reelection as PM
Indonesian President Joko Widodo, popularly known as Jokowi, has congratulated Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on her re-election as Prime Minister of Bangladesh.
In a greeting letter sent to the Bangladesh Prime Minister, the President wrote "Your appointment to this esteemed and consequential office exemplifies the profound respect and unwavering confidence bestowed upon you by the people of Bangladesh."

He mentioned that he has full confidence in Sheikh Hasina's illustrious career and vast experience, which shall undoubtedly furnish her with ample support and resources to steer Bangladesh towards a future brimming with prosperity.
"It is with great optimism that I express my hope for the elevation of bilateral relations and cooperation between our esteemed nations, as we embark on a new era of progress and prosperity."

After hiking fuel price by 30%, Indonesia considering buying cheap Russian oil
Joko Widodo, President of Indonesia, is contemplating buying Russian oil to ease the burden of rising energy prices.
In an interview with the Financial Times, Widodo said, “We always monitor all of the options. If there is the country (and) they give a better price, of course,”
Widodo raised the price of subsidised fuel by 30% earlier this month, citing financial concerns as the reason for the price increase.

Thousands of protestors gathered last week in Jakarta and other major cities to condemn the government’s decision to reduce fuel subsidies. The 270 million-strong nation was rocked by demonstrations after the decision.
However, any decision to buy Russian crude oil at a price higher than the G7-agreed price cap could result in US penalties against Indonesia.
Sandiaga Uno, Indonesia’s minister of tourism, claimed in August that Indonesia had received a 30% discount on Russian petroleum. The nation’s state-owned oil corporation, Pertamina, then declared that it was examining the risks of acquiring Russian oil.

PM sends mangoes to Indonesian president
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has sent 1,000kg of mangoes for Indonesian President Joko Widodo.
The Bangladesh Embassy in Jakarta received 1,000kg of mangoes from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as a gift for Indonesia.

The embassy in coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Indonesia handed over 1,000kg of Bangladeshi mangoes for the president at Merdeka Presidential Palace in Jakarta recently.
Presidential palace protocol of the president secretariat, personal officer staff of the president and protocol officers of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Indonesia received the gift.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina earlier sent mangoes for South Asian leaders, including Indian President Ram Nath Kovind, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Maldives' President Ibrahim Mohammed Solih, Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan, and Sri Lankan Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa.
