Dinajpur education board witnesses slight improvement in pass rate
Dinajpur education board has witnessed a slight increase in the overall pass percentage this year compared to last year.
The number of GPA-5 achievers was 7, 836 more than last year. A total of 14, 265 students secured the highest point in terms of the GPA-5 this year.
Like every year, girls outshone boys in the board in both pass percentage and GPA-5.
The education board Chairman Prof SM Abdus Samad Azad revealed these at a press conference on Tuesday morning. Exam controller Prof Mir Sajjad Ali and others were present there.
The board chairman said students could sit for seven subjects amid the adverse atmosphere this year and their results were evaluated on those.

Under the board, 86,954 students out of 112, 115 from 665 educational institutions came out successfully, he said.This year’s pass percentage was 77.56 percent, an increase of 3.08 percent of last year, he said, adding that 8,110 girls got the GPA-5 while the number for the boys was only 6, 185.
The pass percentage of the boys was 73.97 percent while the girls outnumbered them by 704 percent.
There were 20 colleges under the board where no students passed this year.

Mixed outcomes in SSC exams: No passes at 51 schools, but record highs elsewhere
This year’s SSC and equivalent exams saw no students passing from 51 educational institutions, a slight increase from 48 last year. Conversely, the number of schools achieving a 100% pass rate rose significantly, from 2,354 to 2,968 institutions.
Overall, the average pass rate for these exams is 83.04%, with the country’s nine general education boards posting an average of 83.77%. The Madrasa Education Board recorded a pass rate of 79.66%, while the Technical Education Board saw a rate of 81.38%.

Out of 20,13,597 students who sat for the exams, 16,72,153 passed, including 8,06,553 male and 8,65,600 female students. Despite a rise in overall pass rates, the number of students achieving the top score, GPA-5, decreased by 1,449 from last year, totaling 1,82,129. This group includes 83,353 male students and 98,776 female students.

HSC Results: Jashore Board secures highest pass rate & Dhaka excels in GPA 5
Jashore Board has topped in the pass rate of this year’s Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examinations while Dhaka Board has recorded the highest number of GPA 5.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Sunday unveiled the results of HSC and equivalent examinations 2021, joining a function at International Mother Language Institute virtually from her official residence Gonobhaban.

This year, the average pass rate in HSC and equivalent examinations is 95.26 per cent.
A total of 98.11 per cent students passed the HSC exams under Jashore Board, 97.49 per cent in Cumilla, 97.29 per cent in Rajshahi Board, 96.20 percent in Dhaka Board, 95.76 percent in Barishal, 95.71 percent in Mymensingh, 94.80 percent in Sylhet, 92.43 per cent in Dinajpur and 89.39 per cent under Chattogram Board.
Meanwhile, a total of 1,89,169 students secured the highest grade GPA 5.
Among them, 59,233 students got GPA 5 in Dhaka Board, 32,800 in Rajshahi, 20,878 in Jashore, 15,349 in Dinajpur, 14,153 in Cumilla 13,720 in Chattogram, 9,971 in Barishal, 7,687 in Mymensingh and 4,731 in Sylhet Board.

A total of 14,03,244 candidates took part in the shortened HSC and equivalent exams from 9,183 educational institutions under 11 education boards in the country.
The HSC and equivalent exams were held on December 02-30 last year with shortened syllabus due to long Covid-19-induced closure of educational institutions.
