Police recovered the hanging body of a student of Begum Rokeya University Rangpur (BRUR) from his house on Thursday, pólice said suspecting it a case of suicide. Tanvir Alam Tushar, a Masters final year student of the university's Economics Department, was found dead around 3 pm at his home at Shahebganj área in the Rangpur city. On Tuesday at 2 am Tushar posted a status on social media that said, “I quit for forever.” Also read: 4 girls attempt suicide at Social Services Dept-run rehab centre Tushar’s family informed pólice after finding his hanging body in his room, said officer-in-charge of Haragach pólice station, Shawkat Ali Sarkar. "Primarily we are suspecting that during the Covid lockdown Tushar got involved in gambling through his mobile. Mental stress due to his loans might have led him to kill himself,`` said the OC quoting his family. Meanwhile Tushar’s family members refused to comment on this matter. OC Shawkat said the body has been sent for an autopsy and investigation is on to find out the actual reason of the death. Assistant professor of BRUR Economics Department Belal Uddin said this news is hard to accept as Tuhin was a brilliant student with cheerful personality.

The hanging body of a medical student was recovered from her house in   Niketan area of the city on Saturday. The deceased was identified as Faria Haider, 21, daughter of Alam Haider. She was a 1st year student of a Malaysian medical college. Read: Teen commits suicide after failing SSC examination Father of the deceased Alam Haider said Faria went to sleep after having dinner  and around 8 am they found her body hanging from the ceiling at her room. She was immediately rushed to a local hospital  around 9:30 am and then to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) where doctors pronounced her dead.  Faria was continuing her medical studies online. A Palestinian student attending the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical College in Faridpur is said to have killed himself while on a trip back home in Gaza. The deceased was identified as Musa Abu Jami (22). He took his own life in broad daylight in his hometown Gaza of Palestine on Friday. Also read: For an Eid dress only Faridpur Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical College Chhatra League president Mashtura Mosharraf Rishika confirmed the suicide of the student, saying Musa Abu Jami, a third-year medical student, went home to Gaza, Palestine, a few days before the start of Ramadan. She added that on Friday night, another Palestinian student at the medical college told her  that Musa Abu Jami had committed suicide by hanging himself.  However, she could not say the reason for his suicide. A teenage girl apparently hanged herself after failing the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examinations in Puthia village of Ullapara upazila on Sunday.
