Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in Myanmar Yanghee Lee on Thursday suggested forming an international ad-hoc tribunal, which she thinks, will work as complementary to ongoing efforts on accountability and justice front.

The Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in Myanmar Yanghee Lee will carry out her final mission from Wednesday which will end on January 23.

Dhaka, Oct 24 (UNB) - A UN human rights expert on Myanmar has called for sanctions against Myanmar military-run companies and commanders responsible for serious rights violations.   Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in Myanmar Yanghee Lee told the UN General Assembly in New York that she sees no discernable improvement to the situation in Myanmar.   Lee called for targeted sanctions against the Tatmadaw’s companies and its commanders most responsible for serious violations.
