A construction worker in the city's Bhasantek area was electrocuted to death on Saturday. The deceased was identified as Md Maruf, 25, a resident of Chunia Kandi village in Gaibandha Sadar upazila. Also read: 2 of a family among 3 die from electrocution in Bogura The incident occurred around noon when Maruf went to connect an electrical line in the first floor of a multi-storied building he was working at under a developer company, said his co-worker Md Aftab. Maruf’s co-workers rescued him in an unconscious condition and rushed him to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where the duty doctors announced him dead, said Bacchu Mia, in-charge Inspector of DMCH police outpost. Two people died and another two were injured from electrocution in the city’s Satarkul area of North Badda area on Sunday afternoon, family said. The deceased were identified as Ariful Islam Sohel, 32, a welding mechanic and Jahangir Alam, 32, his assistant. Another two workers Ahad and Miraj were injured in the incident. Bachchu Mia, police inspector at the DMCH police outpost said the bodies have been kept at the hospital morgue for autopsies.

Atiqul Islam, the khadem of Eidgah Mosque at Dhanmandi-6 died from electrocution on Wednesday, police said. Atiqul hailed from IItna upazila in Kishoreganj district. Also read: 2 die from electrocution on waterlogged Dhaka road The incident took place at around 11: 00 am when Atiqul was mowing the mosque’s field by an electric machine, said Abdul Jalil, a worker of the mosque. Accidentally, Atiqul a live wire of the machine and fell down unconscious, Jalil added. Inspector Bachchu Mia, in -charge of the DMCH police Camp, said the body has been kept at the hospital’s morgue for autopsy.

A tenth-grader was electrocuted in Sylhet city Friday. The deceased Shahirul Haque Chowdhury, 15, was from the Ghurni residential area. The schoolboy's family members said he came in contact with a live electric wire while changing an IPS line, after which they found him unconscious. A mechanic died of electrocution Sunday while repairing a lift  at Bibirbagicha area in the city's Jatrabari. The deceased was identified as Aminul Islam Shafin, 20, resident of Sayedabad area. The accident occurred around 11am and he was pronounced dead by the in-charge doctor of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) as he was rushed to the hospital in an unconscious condition. Shafin used to work as a mechanic in his uncle’s elevator company. A child was electrocuted on Thursday afternoon while playing amid rain in Tejgaon  area in the capital. The deceased was identified as Sajal Islam Alif, 10. Also read: 2 die from electrocution on waterlogged Dhaka road “I went to the roof and saw him lying unconscious and immediately rushed him to a local medical facility first and then to DMCH  where doctors declared him dead,” Yasin Hossain, uncle of the child, told UNB. He said Sajal might have been electrocuted after touching a pipe which somehow was connected with an electric wire. A rickshaw puller was electrocuted to death in the Sonir Akhra area of the capital on Saturday evening. The deceased was identified as  Md Jalal, 40. He used to pull battery-driven rickshaws in Dhaka. He was rushed to the emergency unit of  Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) where the on duty doctor declared him dead at around 9 pm. Sub inspector Bachchu Miah, also in-charge of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) police camp confirmed the information to UNB.
