Criticising journalists for a report on government officials’ proposed foreign tour to learn how to cook ‘khichuri’ under a mid-day meal peorgramme for primary students, State Minister of Primary and Mass Education Md Zakir Hossain on Wednesday this is not an issue to raise a hue and cry.

There will be no Primary Education Completion (PEC) and its equivalent Ebtedayee examination for 2020 and the students will be promoted to the next class through class assessment instead.

The Primary and Mass Education Ministry will send a proposal to the Prime Minister over cancellation of the Primary Education Completion (PEC) examination due to the coronavirus pandemic, said

Bangladesh Betar will start broadcasting lessons ‘Ghore bose shikhi’ for primary school students from August 12 so that students could continue academic activities amid the coronavirus pandemic.

A total of 226 teachers, students and officials of different primary schools across the country have so far been infected with the coronavirus.
