Bangladesh Scouts delegation calls on PM Tarique
The National Executive Committee of Bangladesh Scouts paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Tarique Rahman on Wednesday.
The meeting was held at the Prime Minister’s special conference room under the Cabinet Division at the Secretaiat, said his Additional Press Secretary Atikur Rahman Rumon.
He said the delegation was led by Cabinet Secretary Nasimul Ghani.
During the meeting, Rumon said the Scouts leaders briefed the prime minister on their ongoing activities and future plans.
The prime minister listened attentively and praised the role of the scouting movement in developing the younger generation into skilled, patriotic and humane citizens.
The delegation also informed him about an international Scouts conference scheduled to be held in Dhaka in December.
At the beginning of the meeting, the prime minister was presented with a Scout scarf.
The Scouts representatives highlighted their various programmes and sought the government’s continued support for their activities.
Education Minister ANM Ehsanul Hoque Milon,, Prime Minister’s Adviser Mahdi Amin, Cabinet Secretary Nasimul Ghani, Principal Secretary ABM Abdus Sattar, Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Public Administration Md Ehsanul Haque were, among others, present.

50-yrs of Bangladesh Scouts: PM releases commemorative stamp
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Thursday released a commemorative postage stamp on the occasion of Golden Jubilee of Bangladesh Scouts and Bangladesh Scouts Day-2022.
The prime minister unveiled a Tk 10 commemorative postage stamp, a Tk 10 opening day cover and a Tk 5 data card at a ceremony at her official residence Ganobhaban here.

A special canceller was used on the occasion.
Posts and Telecommunications Minister Mustafa Jabbar, Chief National Commissioner of Bangladesh Scouts Dr Md Mazammel Haque Khan, Prime Minister’s Office Senior Secretary Md. Tofazzel Hossain Miah, Posts and Telecommunications Secretary Md Khalilur Rahman and Director General of Directorate of Posts Md.Siraz Uddin, among others, were present.

Cattle markets: UNDP, Bangladesh Scouts launch mask distribution, awareness progs
The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and Bangladesh Scouts have teamed up to launch a Covid-19 awareness campaign at the major cattle markets in the country.
Under the campaign, Rover Scouts dressed in PPE will distribute masks among the buyers flocking to markets, with Eid-ul-Azha just around the corner.
The two-day campaign is being carried out targeting the crunch time starting Monday.
The campaign will be carried out at Gabtoli, Aftabnagar and Dhupkhola cattle markets in Dhaka and two major markets of every division.
Booths will also be set up at the markets from where Covid-19 precautionary messaging will be broadcast using loud hailers.
"The government has lifted the lockdown so people can celebrate the festival." Bangladesh Scouts President Md Abul Kalam Azad said. "However, the pandemic is hard to fight if people are not careful about their safety."
Echoing him, UNDP Resident Representative Sudipto Mukerjee said, "Only wearing masks properly, maintaining sufficient physical distance and practising frequent hand sanitisation, and all of that done together will help us enjoy Eid responsibly while keeping ourselves and everyone else safe. We certainly owe this to ourselves and everyone else."

DHPB BS donates hygiene products to DNCC, DSCC, DMP, DGHS
To safeguard the frontline responders against Covid-19, ‘Dettol Harpic Porichchonno Bangladesh’ (DHPB) and Bangladesh Scouts gave disinfectants and cleaning materials to two Dhaka city corporations, police and health authorities.
