Kabir Bin Anwar new Cabinet Secretary
Senior secretary to the Water Resources Ministry Kabir Bin Anwar has been appointed as the new Cabinet Secretary.
The Public Administration Ministry issued a notification in this regard on Sunday.
Meanwhile, Nazmul Ahsan, chairman (additional secretary) of Petrobangla, has been made secretary to the Water Resources Ministry, it added.

Tofazzel new Principal Secretary to Prime Minister
Senior Secretary Tofazzel Hossain Miah has been made the new Principal Secretary to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, replacing Ahmad Kaikaus.
The Ministry of Public Administration issued a gazette notification in this regard on Wednesday, saying that Tofazzel has been transferred from his earlier position.
In a separate gazette, the ministry said that Kaikaus has been appointed as an Alternative Executive Director at the World Bank’s headquarters in Washington on a contractual basis for three years.

The ministry made the change as the tenure of Kaikaus as Principal Secretary will expire on December 9.
Prior to becoming the Principal Secretary, Tofazzel acted as Secretary of the Prime Minister's Office since January, 2021. He was promoted to Senior Secretary on 29 December, 2021.

High Court asks government to urgently appoint five recommended BCS cadres
The High Court Thursday asked the government to urgently appoint five candidates who were recommended for different cadre positions after taking the Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) exams.
The HC bench of Justice Zubayer Rahman Chowdhury and Justice Ebadot Hossain gave the order after hearing five separate writ petitions filed by as many candidates.
The court asked the government to appoint Md Shafayet Hossain from 33rd BCS, Shaheen Sultana from 34th, Md Arifuzzaman from 35th, and Md Saiful Islam and Mehrin Akhter Sarwar from 39th.
Deputy Attorney General KM Masud Rumi represented the state and Md Siddique Ullah Miah stood for the petitioners during the hearing.

Siddique said despite the Bangladesh Public Service Commission's recommendation to the government to appoint his clients, the authorities neither appointed them nor provided an explanation for why they were not recruited.

Bangladesh appoints career diplomat Nazrul Islam as ambassador to Qatar
The government has appointed career diplomat Md. Nazrul Islam as the new Ambassador of Bangladesh to the State of Qatar.
He will succeed Ambassador Md. Jashim Uddin , the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced on Wednesday.
Ambassador Nazrul Islam is a career foreign service officer belonging to the 15th batch of Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) Foreign Affairs cadre.
He is currently serving as Ambassador of Bangladesh to Ethiopia with concurrent accreditation to South Sudan, Burundi and African Union (AU).

In his distinguished diplomatic career, Islam also served in different capacities at Bangladesh Missions in Rome, Kolkata and Geneva and had been engaged in many important multilateral negotiations for the government.
At the headquarters, he worked in various capacities in different wings.
Islam obtained his Masters in International Relations from Dhaka University and had undergone higher studies and trainings in France, the Netherlands and elsewhere.
