Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader on Tuesday asked Dhaka Metropolitan Police and the city corporations to be strict in banning easy bikes and battery-powered rickshaws in the capital. The minister was addressing virtually a board meeting of Dhaka Transport Coordination Authority (DTCA) from his official residence. Read: Decision taken to ban battery-powered rickshaw-vans: Home Minister He advised the DTCA to finalize the project proposal in consultation with two city corporations of Dhaka for upgrading the Eastern Bypass and Western section of Inner Ring Road.   He also said that digging in the Dhaka City Corporation areas without coordination will not be allowed. The minister urged the DTCA to extend necessary cooperation to the two mayors of Dhaka in this regard. Dhaka North City Corporation Mayor Md. Atiqul Islam, Southern Mayor Barrister Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh, Narayanganj City Mayor Selina Hayat Ivy, MP Nazrul Islam Babu, Sagufta Yasmin Emilir, Director DTCA were virtually present at the board meeting of DTCA.
