HSC results 2024: Over 77% pass rate, GPA-5 achievers surge to 1.45 lakh
The results of the 2024 Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent exams have been released, with a total pass rate of 77.78%. The general education boards recorded a 75.56% pass rate, while the madrasa and technical boards saw significantly higher success rates of 93.40% and 88.09%, respectively.
A major highlight this year is the surge in students achieving the highest GPA-5, with 1,45,911 students earning the distinction, a sharp increase from last year’s 92,595.
How to get HSC results tomorrow
A total of 13,31,058 students appeared for the exams, with 10,35,309 successfully passing. The Sylhet board boasted the highest pass rate at 85.38%, followed by Barishal at 81.85%, Rajshahi at 81.24%, and Dhaka at 79.21%. Other board results include Dinajpur with 77.56%, Cumilla at 71.15%, Chattogram at 70.32%, Jashore with 64.29%, and Mymensingh at 63.22%.

HSC, equivalent exams begin
The Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and its equivalent exams have begun across the country except in Sylhet division this morning.
The exams in Sylhet division will start from July 9 as Ministry of Education deferred the board’s exams due to flood.
The examinees under the Sylhet Board will sit for Bangla-I, II and English-I and II papers as per new routine to be announced later, said Sylhet Education Board Chairman Rama Bijoy Sarkar.
A total of 14,50,790 students from nine general Education Boards, Madrasha Board and Technical Board are expected to sit for the exams from 9,463 educational institutions at 2,275 centres across the country, according to authorities.
HSC, equivalent exams begin Sunday; over 14 lakh candidates to appear
Among them, 11, 28,281 students are supposed to appear from nine general boards, 88,076 from madrasha board and 2, 34,433 from Technical Board respectively.
Some 281 students will appear for the examination from eight overseas centres.
Like the previous years, all coaching centres were asked to keep closed from June 29 till August 11.

SSC and HSC 2024 will be held in February, April: Education Minister
The Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and equivalent exams for 2024 will be held in February while Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent exams will be held in April, Bangladesh's Education Minister Dipu Moni said today (August 17, 2023).
“For the past several years, the authorities concerned had to rearrange the academic calendar due to the Covid-19 pandemic and natural disaster, but it will be fully set from next year,” she hoped.
The minister came up with the information while talking to reporters after visiting an SSC exam hall at Tejgaon College in Dhaka.
“We will try our level best to hold HSC exams in April and SSC exams in February, from next year,” she added.

Dipu Moni claimed that there has been no question paper leak in public exams in the last five years. “We have been on alert to prevent question paper leak since 2015 and I hope there will be no untoward incident during this year’s HSC exams.”
If anyone tried to spread rumours, law enforcing agencies will take stern action against them, she said.

According to the routine, HSC written exams will continue till September 25 while practical exams will be held from September 26 to October 4.
The HSC exams is being held at 2,658 exam centres and 9,169 educational institutions.
Among the total students, 11,08,594 students will appear for HSC under the nine general education boards, 98,031 under the Madrasa board, and 1,52,717 under the Technical Education board.

The Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and its equivalent examinations for 2023 are starting today (August 17, 2023) across Bangladesh.
Students will sit for Bangla first paper exam on the first day, from 10 am.
A total of 13,59, 342 students — 6,88, 887 boys and 6,70,455 girls — are expected to sit for this year’s HSC exams, 1,55,935 more than the previous year.
HSC selection test to begin from May 30
Like the previous years, students have to enter their respective exam halls 30 minutes before the exam starts.
According to the routine, HSC written exams will continue till September 25 while practical exams will be held from September 26 to October 4.

The Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board released the routine of the exams for all education boards on Thursday.

Practical exams will be held from September 26 to October 4, according to the routine.

85.95 % pass 2022 HSC, equivalent exams
Results of 2022 Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examinations were published today. The average pass percentage is 85.95 percent.
Education Minister Dipu Moni handed over the result summary to the prime minister earlier today.
After that chairmen of different education boards handed over the results of their respective boards to the PM.
Education Minister Dipu Moni announced the results at International Mother Language Institute in Dhaka.
A total of 10,11, 987 examinees, out of 11,77, 387, passed the 2022 exams under 11 education boards of the country. The number was 13,06,718 in 2021.
For 2022, a total of 1,76,282 students secured the highest grade, GPA 5, compared to 1,89,169 in 2021.

HSC exams begin across the country
The Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent exams for the academic session 2021-22 began today (November 06, 2022) across the country.
HSC exams began at 11 am with Bangla 1st Paper on the first day.
Some 12,03,407 examinees completed their registration to sit for the exams. Of them, 6,22,769 are boys and 5,80,611 are girls.

Traffic jams have been reported from different parts of Dhaka ahead of the HSC examinations.
UNB correspondents found a long tailback from Kakrail to Viqarunnisa Noon School & College on Bailey Road in Dhaka, forcing many candidates to enter the examination centre at the last moment.
The HSC, equivalent exams are being held at 2,649 centers and 9,181 institutions across the country.

Mobile phone sets or others devices are prohibited in exam centres.
According to the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education, written HSC exams will continue till December 13. Practical exams will be held from December 15 to 22.

Over 12 lakh students expected to sit for HSC exams from Sunday
The Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examinations for the academic session 2021-2022 will begin across the country Sunday (November 06, 2022) with the Bangla first paper.
More than 12.03 lakh students are expected to take the tests at 2,649 centres, from 9,181 institutions under 11 education boards; among them, there are 622,796 male students and 580,611 female students.
According to the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education, written HSC exams will begin on November 6 and will continue till December 13. Practical exams will be held from December 15 to 22.

The exams will be held from 11 am to 1 pm and 2 pm to 4 pm.
All coaching centres across Bangladesh will remain closed till December 14 during the exams.
Also, Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has imposed a ban on the movement of anyone except HSC examinees and exam officials, within 200 yards of test centres in the capital.
The DMP announced the new step in a statement Thursday.

The public will be completely barred from travelling within 200 yards of test centres to ensure "proper and lawful" exams, according to DMP Commissioner Khandker Gulam Faruq.
The order will remain in force until the end of the HSC and equivalent exams in Bangladesh.

95.26% pass HSC, equivalent examinations
The results of the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and its equivalent examinations were published on Sunday, showing a pass percentage of 95.26%, 4.74 % lower than previous year’s 100%.
Among the examinees, 95.57% passed the HSC examinations, 95.49% came out successful in Madrasah Board while 92.85% in Technical Board.
A total of 13,06,718 examinees, out of 13,71,681, came out successful in the examinations in all the 11 education boards of the country.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Sunday published the results of HSC and equivalent examinations 2021.
She published the results, joining a function at International Mother Language Institute virtually from her official residence Ganobhaban.
On behalf of the Prime Minister, Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni received the results of the HSC and equivalent exams-2021 and related statistics from the chairmen of all the education boards.
This year, a total of 1,89,169 students secured the highest grade GPA 5 against 1,61,807 last year.
Among the successful students, 1,78,522 achieved the highest grade GPA 5 under nine general education boards while 4872 under the Madrasha Education Board and 5,775 under the Technical and Vocational Education Board.

A total of 14,03,244 candidates took part in the HSC and equivalent exams from 9,183 educational institutions under 11 education boards in the country.
The HSC and equivalent exams were held on December 02-30 last year with shortened syllabus.

The HSC exams of 2020 could not be held due to the Covid-19 outbreak and the results were prepared based on the candidates’ performances in previous public examinations.

HSC results today
The wait of some 13, 99, 690 students will come to an end as the results of the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examinations of 2021 will be published on Sunday.
The results will be officially announced at the International Mother Language Institute at Segunbagicha in the capital at 11:30am, said the Education Ministry on Saturday.
After a 7-month delay caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and its equivalent examinations for the academic session 2020-21 were held in December 2021.
The SSC and the HSC examinations of 2021 could not be held as per the schedules due to the Covid-19 pandemic and then the government decided to hold the examinations with shortened syllabuses.

The SSC and equivalent examinations that began on November 14 concluded on November 23while the HSC exams concluded on December 30.
Educational institutions across the country had remained closed since March last year due to the Covid-19 pandemic and the closure was extended several times.
Finally, the government reopened schools and colleges on September 13 following an improvement in the Covid-19 situation.

Last year’s HSC examinees were evaluated on the basis of their results of JSC and SSC exams, a decision which received a mixed reaction.
