Injury marks found on ex-BCL leader Biplab’s body, says physician who conducted autopsy
Former general secretary of Bangladesh Chhatra League’s (BCL) Jahangirnagar University (JU) unit Duranta Biplab might have been murdered as some injury marks were found on his body, said a physician after conducting autopsy on Sunday.
“Injury marks were found on the back of the head and chest of Biplab,” said Dr Mofiz Uddin Pradhan Nipun, a physician at Narayanganj General Hospital where the autopsy was done.
It is suspected that he died after being hit on the back of the head with a heavy object, said the physician.
“It can be confirmed after receiving the final report of the post-mortem. But initially, it can be said that Biplab was murdered,” he added.
Biplab was also a member of the Agriculture and Cooperative Sub-Committee of the Central Awami League.

Biplab, 51, went missing while going to Mohammadpur from Keraniganj to meet his mother on November 7.
The body of was fished out from the Buriganga river in Jajira area of South Keraniganj on Saturday afternoon, said Shahab Uddin Kabir, Additional Superintendent of Police of Keraniganj circle.
Biplab’s family members came to Narayanganj early Sunday and identified body from a photo.
A general diary (GD) was filed at Keraniganj police station in this regard, said deceased’s brother Durjoy.

Injury marks on head, body of Buet student Fardin: Doctor who conducted autopsy
The body of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) student Fardin Noor Parash bears several injury marks, according to the doctor who conducted the autopsy this morning (November 08, 2022).
“There are several injury marks on Fardin's head and body,” said Sheikh Farhad, a physician at Narayanganj General Hospital where the autopsy was done.
Maniruzzaman Moni, officer-in-charge of Narayanganj River Police, said police have detained two friends of Fardin for interrogation.
They are also trying to find clues to and possible reasons behind Fardin's death, he said.

Meanwhile, Fardin’s father Nuruddin Rana said that the family received a phone call on Monday (November 07, 2022), informing them of Fardin's dead body.
Earlier on Monday, police found Fardin's body from the Shitalakshya river, three days after he went missing.
Fardin was a 3rd-year student of civil engineering department of BUET and a resident of Qutubpur area in Narayanganj's Fatullah, said Maniruzzaman.
On November 4, Fardin left home and did not return. He was also unreachable on phone.

Later, his father lodged a general diary with Rampura Police in this regard.
On Monday afternoon, the dead body was seen floating on the river just behind a cotton mill at Siddhirganj.
On information, police rushed to the spot and recovered the body, added the OC.

20-yr-old found dead in Jhenaidah
A 20-year-old youth was found dead in Kotchandpur upazila of Jhenaidah district on Wednesday.
The deceased was identified as Riad Khan, 20, son of Solaiman Amin of Bagdanga village. Riad used to work at a rice mill.

Local people spotted the body of Riad in the afternoon and alerted cops, said Moinuddin, officer-in-charge of Kotchandpur Police Station.
"The body bore several injury marks. We suspect he was stabbed to death by miscreants on Tuesday night," he added.
The body was sent to the local hospital morgue for an autopsy.

Three of family found dead in Khulna pond
Police on Tuesday morning recovered three bodies of a family from a pond in Bamia village of Khulna's Koyra upazila.
The deceased were identified as daily wager Habibur Rahman, 30, his wife Beauty Khatun, 26, and their seventh grader daughter Habiba Khatun Tuni, 13. They were residents of Bamia village.

Police suspect the three were killed by miscreants in their home on Monday night and then their bodies were thrown into the nearby pond.
Shahadat Hossain, officer-in-charge (investigation) of the Koyra police station, said they had collected some evidence from the spot.
"Injury marks of sharp weapons were spotted on the three bodies. A probe is on," he added.

Youth, girlfriend found dead in Gazipur
A 25-year-old man and his girlfriend were found dead in his house at Satanipara in Kaliganj upazila on Wednesday night.
The deceased were identified as Hridoy Gomez, an NGO worker, and Evana Rozario, 22, of Bandakhola village. The woman was a nursing student.

Police suspect Hridoy killed Evana over some issue and then stabbed himself to death. The two were in a relationship for a long period of time.
On Wednesday, Evana went to Hridoy's at his invitation, said Saiful Islam, sub-inspector at Kaliganj police station. He was alone at the time as other family members had gone out.
When Hridoy’s mother returned home after a while, she found the door and windows of the house locked from inside. She also heard loud music from inside, police said.
Getting no response from inside for long, she along with local people peeped through the window of the house and found the duo lying in a pool of blood.

On information, police rushed to the spot and sent the bodies to the local hospital morgue. Evana's body bore several injury marks, cops said.
"A probe has been ordered into the deaths," the officer said.

Another dead dolphin found on Kuakata sea beach
Local fishermen found a dead dolphin on Kuakata sea beach in Kalapara upazila of Patuakhali district on Saturday.
Local people said, the dolphin, about 6-7 feet long, had injury marks on its mouth and they suspected that the dolphin might have died after being hit by fishing nets.

Apu Shaha, Fisheries and Livestock official of Kalapara upazila, said, “The dolphin belongs to the Ganges river dolphin specie which live on eating fish. It might have died after being hit by fishing nets.”
