Munni Saha picked up, then released 'on condition'
Journalist Munni Saha has been released from the custody of the Detective Branch, just hours after being detained from Kawran Bazar in the capital on Saturday night.
She was handed over to her family on payment of a bond shortly after midnight (technically Sunday).
Quoting Rezaul Karim Mallick, additional commissioner (DB) of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police, The Daily Star is reporting she was released under the obscure Section 497 of the CrPC.
It means she must appear in court to seek bail and comply with future police summons.

Earlier, a DB team picked up Munni Saha from the Karwan Bazar area around 9:30pm on Saturday, said DB Additional Commissioner Rezaul Karim Mallik.
He said that Munni Saha faces several cases in Dhaka.
Responding to questions, he said that they have not yet determined under which police station's case the arrest will be shown.

No gas supply to several capital areas Thursday
There will be no gas supply in several areas of Dhaka city for up to six hours on Thursday, as the gas distribution company is taking up pipeline relocation work.
In a statement, Titas Gas Transmission and Distribution Company said that supply will remain suspended from 10am to 4pm on Thursday (May 27) at Tejkunipara, Tejgaon Girls' School, Kawran Bazar, Khirstan Para, Sonargaon Hotel and Kathalbagan.

Other areas to be affected by the supply disruption are Dilu Road, Paribagh, eastern side of Sonargaon Road and western side of Kataban.
According to Titas, supply will be cut off to facilitate relocation of a gas pipeline from Tejgaon Rail Crossing to Sonargaon Hotel. Adjacent areas of the affected locations may also experience low pressure in supply for the same reason, it said.
"Pipeline relocation is part of a route alignment of utilities under the Dhaka Elevated Expressway Project," the company added.
