State Minister for Cultural Affairs KM Khalid and his wife Dr Shohela Aktar have tested positive for Covid-19. Read: Asaduzzaman Noor contracts Covid-19 Both are in isolation at home with mild symptoms, the Ministry of Cultural Affairs said in a statement on Wednesday.

Although economic activities have resumed to a large extent, the entertainment centres in the capital city remain closed as part of measures to limit transmission of coronavirus which has officially infected nearly 270,000 people and killed several thousand of them.

The Community Support Teams (CST) has been working to preserve hospital capacity by slowing down coronavirus transmission at the community level through targeted home isolation and family quarantine for symptomatic individuals combined with the promotion of public mask-wearing. 

Information Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud on Thursday said the BNP and its leaders are now in home isolation.
