A five-year-old child was killed and 100 houses were burnt in a fire which broke out at a Rohingya camp in Teknaf upazila of Cox’s Bazar district early Friday. The identity of the deceased could not be known immediately. The fire broke out at the Nayapara Mouchani camp G Block around 12 am and spread soon, said Mohammad Kawsar Shikdar, commanding officer and additional deputy inspector general of Armed Police Battalion-16. 26 rooms of 3 Eco resorts gutted in Saint Martin's fire On information, two firefighting units rushed to the spot and doused the flame after one hour of hectic effort around 1 am. Later, police recovered the charred body of the child. Around 100 houses were burnt into ashes during the fire, he said. However, what caused the fire could not be known immediately.  

A minor boy was killed in a landslide triggered by incessant rain in Moheshkhali upazila of the district on Tuesday morning. The deceased was identified as Robiul Hossain, 5, son of Gora Puchhun of Kalarmarsora in the upazila. After searching in different places, the locals recovered the body of the child by removing the mud around 9 pm, he added.  

An 8-year old girl, Tabassum, was killed after allegedly being raped by a group of youth over a feud between two families in Nasratpur village of Dhunte in Bogra.

A two-year-old boy was killed while three others sustained burn injuries in a fire that broke out at a house in city’s Bongshal area on Thursday.

Police arrested a woman on Friday for allegedly killing her two-year-old daughter. “My family has been struggling with extreme financial crisis and Marium was sick and screaming all the time. So I decided to kill her,” Rubina Begum, the mother, told police.

A child was killed, reportedly after she was raped, at Garfa village of Boraigram upazila in the early hours of Monday.
