Bangladesh reiterated the importance it attaches to signing of the Teesta water sharing agreement with India and sought increased cooperation between two Border Forces with a view to bringing down border killings to zero, during the Foreign Secretary-level talks between the two countries on Friday.

Experts at a webinar have emphasised the need to enhance transboundary collaboration to ensure food security and reduce disaster risks in the Meghna Basin building on the 2011 Framework Agreement for Cooperation between Bangladesh and India.

CARE Bangladesh on Monday arranged an online workshop involving key stakeholders including the Department of Disaster Management to discuss the key takeaways from its River Bank Erosion Anticipatory Response Project in Kurigram. 

The district administration of Chandpur has sent a project proposal with an outlay of Tk 421 crore to the Ministry of Water Resources for its approval to protect the town from bank erosion by the Meghna River.
